Only two more weeks until the 15th Annual Danziger Cup Fishing Tournament!

Saturday, June 20th, Smythe Park, 8:30 am-10:30 am (Fathers day weekend)

Children ages 4 to 15 of families who reside or work on Daniel Island are eligible to enter as anglers in the tournament. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

***Only the first 150 Pre-Registrants are Guaranteed a Goodie Bag at check-in ***

Awards will be given for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd longest fish of large mouth bass, pan fish, and mullet caught in each age category. Plus an award for the longest “Mystery Fish” caught in any age category and for any tagged fish. The Grand Champion Award is for the longest eligible fish species overall, regardless of age category. The Grand Champion will win a half-day fishing trip for two people with Capt. Greg Peralta.

You can catch them playing with their acoustic duo/Trio up to 5 times a week. Unlike OldSoul, which is all Rock and Roll all night long, The TNT Duo plays all your rock, country, funk, and pop favorites. You have to get out and experience the magic of these two old souls!

Join us at the Spring Acoustic Guitar Series with Rotie Salley this Thursday, May 21st, at Daniel Island Waterfront Park from 5 - 7 PM.

He uncovered his passion for music during his first guitar lesson. From that point on, his energy came from choir, jam sessions, bands, and songwriting. He carried his love of music to college, where his creativity was allowed to flourish and expand along with practicality, logistics, and professionalism.

Rotie has been performing around the southeast and locally in Charleston, SC, for almost 20 years. Along the way, he’s learned thousands of songs covering many music genres. He tries to bring a full-band feel to solo acoustic shows so that it provides a big, full sound to really heighten the listeners' experience.

Rotie finds inspiration all around him. He tries to make my music representative of himself and his generation. He’s continued to be inspired by fellow musicians to be able to develop his own sound. His goal is to always provide a unique performance for the audience.

UPDATE: Concert in the Park is ON! 🎶

We’ve been monitoring the weather closely throughout the morning, and conditions are looking favorable. The sun is even making an appearance, and we’re optimistic that any potential rain will be light and brief.

We look forward to seeing everyone at the park tonight for a great evening of music and community!

The Acoustic Guitar Series Concert tonight at 5 pm to 7 pm at the Waterfront Park is still on. Depending on when the rain stops, there may be a delayed start if necessary.

Bring chairs since the ground will be wet.

Join us at the Spring Acoustic Guitar Series with JāmiSun this Thursday, May 7th, at Daniel Island Waterfront Park from 5 - 7 PM.

JāmiSun is a true craftsman and 5-star entertainer.

Just put him in front of any audience, and he will put on a show that they will never forget.

Awarded “Charleston’s Acoustic Throwdown Champion” 3 years in a row, and with over 4,000 shows since 2007.

It's safe to say, JamiSun is one of the hardest-working musicians around. JamiSun plays guitar with proficiency, and his original music is conscious and heartfelt. His passion is evident in his energetic and dynamic performances at corporate events, nightlife, private functions, and major music festivals.

Join us at the Spring Acoustic Guitar Series with John Creidler this Thursday, April 30th, at Daniel Island Waterfront Park from 5 - 7 PM.

John is a professional musician who has many years of experience performing for Parks and Rec organizations. His band twice opened for Kenny Chesney in stadiums, and he did some projects with Jimmy Buffett. His band played Jimmy’s music for over 2 decades.

Today, he is solo and currently living in West Ashley. He recently launched his latest project, a Neil Diamond show.

Daniel Island Roadwork Schedule As of 4/24/26

Residents and commuters on Daniel Island should be aware of the upcoming roadway improvement schedule updates beginning Monday, April 27th, 2026. Most activity takes place overnight to minimize daytime disruptions.

Monday night (4/27) - Resurfacing on Fairchild Street (Daniel Island Drive to River Landing Drive)

Tuesday night (4/28) - Resurfacing on River Landing Drive (Island Park Drive to Seven Farms Drive)

Wednesday night (4/29) – Resurfacing on River Landing Drive (Seven Farms Drive to Longshore Drive)

Thursday night (4/30) – Resurfacing on Delahow Street (Woodford Street to Island Park Drive)

Drivers may experience temporary lane closures, detours, and minor delays during work hours. All scheduled work is weather-dependent, and timelines may shift due to rain, equipment issues, or other unforeseen circumstances. Residents are encouraged to use caution in construction zones and allow extra travel time when traveling through affected areas.

Additionally, a street blocking permit was approved for Charleston Water System on Daniel Island Dr between Inlet Ave and Coastal Dr to repair the sewer main beginning Monday, April 27th, through Friday, May 1st, between 9 AM and 5 PM.
