BREAKING: Pasha Majdi for West Virginia and Commissioner Cara Keys Make Fun of Those Serving in Marines!

They laughed at a Marine.

Cara Keys to Pasha Majdi:
“But none of us are marines lol … Dan casto thinks that is a top priority for appointment lol what a brain!!!”

That’s not a policy debate. That’s two sitting Jefferson County Commissioners treating U.S. Marine Corps service like a punchline.

Nick Russo is a Marine veteran. When the Planning Commission appointment came up, Keys moved to dump him for someone else. Then, in private texts, they mocked the idea that serving this country should even matter when they hand out seats.

“Lol.”

“What a brain.”

That’s the standard they hold veterans to.

Jefferson County has no shortage of people who talk a big game about “supporting the troops” at parades and then treat actual service like a joke the second it gets in the way of their club. If military service is a disqualifier in their group chat, voters should treat that attitude as a disqualifier at the ballot box.

I was surprised yesterday when I heard my opponent say during the County Commission meeting that the County Commission didn’t have the ability to pass an ordinance addressing Flock and Flock-like camera use.

That’s simply not true.

As a former County Commissioner, I can tell you that the County Commission absolutely has the ability to pass an ordinance legally prohibiting the installation and use of Flock and Flock-like cameras on all property owned by the county.

While the Commission can’t legally do anything about camera use on private property, it certainly can ensure that cameras aren’t installed or used on county property.

When I took office in 2021, I took action.

One of my first acts as a commissioner was to introduce and pass a resolution declaring Jefferson County a 2nd Amendment Sanctuary County.

I followed that by leading the repeal of the county ordinance that banned ATV use in Jefferson County, and helped pass an obscenity ordinance designed to protect Jefferson County’s children.
Sadly, that obscenity ordinance was repealed by the very commission that my opponent now sits on.

But you can rest assured that, along with an ordinance addressing Flock and Flock-like camera use, I’ll be working to reintroduce the obscenity ordinance immediately upon taking office.

When I was your County Commissioner, I took action to protect your rights and your children.

During his tenure on the County Commission, I have yet to see my opponent introduce or pass any significant legislation that has meaningfully helped the residents of Jefferson County.

Instead, he has used his position as commissioner to verbally attack constituents and push for state legislation that would infringe on your 1st Amendment rights and your right to a transparent government.

At the same time, he has continually failed to adequately address important issues like Flock camera use and protecting your 4th Amendment rights.

The difference is clear.

I have a proven track record of taking action and working for the people of Jefferson County.

My opponent, Pasha Majdi, has a proven record of attempting to infringe on your rights and kicking the can down the road instead of addressing the important issues facing our county.

I’ve done this job before.

I know what it means to stand up for the people of Jefferson County and actually take action.

Cara Keys gets paid to tell banks what commercial land in this region is worth. Then she sits on the body that decides whether that land can be rezoned, intensified, or green-lit.

Banks do not hire appraisers out of civic duty. They hire them so loans close.

If the same person who writes the number the bank needs also votes on the zoning the bank needs, the public is entitled to ask: whose interest is being valued?

The people of Jefferson County have the right to know, which banks is she working for? Then we need to ask those banks some questions.

Earlier today we told you about Pasha Majdi for West Virginia ties to Communist China. Now we are telling you about John A. Cline's Chinese Ties. John brought a lawsuit on their behalf and whose wife was recently appointed to the Jefferson County Planning Commission instead of a disabled Veteran.

Follow the money.

John A. Cline of Cline Strategic Consulting is not a concerned neighbor who just woke up caring about local government. He is a registered federal lobbyist for clients with Chinese ties.

Cline Strategic Consulting filed a federal Lobbying Disclosure Act report for Q2 2020 listing BYD Motors Inc. as the client and reporting $20,000 in lobbying income that quarter. BYD Motors is the U.S. arm of BYD Company Ltd. of Shenzhen, China.

That was not a one-off China problem. OpenSecrets lists RIDE Mobility as a 2025 client of Cline Strategic Consulting. RIDE is BYD’s U.S. bus operation after a rebrand. House Homeland Security’s May 2025 letter treated BYD North America and RIDE Mobility as the same PRC-affiliated shop — same Pasadena address — and said the RIDE name “appears designed to portray your business as a U.S.-based domestic manufacturer” while the China parent still owns it. Lobbying paperwork on RIDE has listed BYD Company Ltd., Shenzhen, 100% ownership.

So when Cline talks transportation, infrastructure money, and “strategic consulting,” ask the real question:

Why is a lobbyist who has billed a Chinese EV/bus giant — and its American rebrand — circling Jefferson County politics?

Now look at what he is doing locally.

John A. Cline has sued David Tabb and the county government trying to keep Tabb off the ballot after voters already chose him in the May primary. That is not civic hygiene. That is a desperate ploy to disenfranchise people who already voted.

His wife sits on the Planning Commission. Is she doing his dirty work while he does Majdi and Keys’ legal work?

Public filings also show Cline’s shop lobbying on transportation infrastructure, federal funding, and the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act — including work tied to clients like Wieland North America. Fine. Put it all on the table:

Who is the client this time?
Is any of this connected to BYD, RIDE, transit money, land use, or county votes?
What is the deliverable in Jefferson County?
Why is a China-linked transportation lobbyist trying to knock a primary winner off the ballot?

Jefferson County did not elect Cline Strategic Consulting. Residents did not hire a former White House lobbyist to manage local fights for Pasha Majdi and Cara Keys.

If Cline is in this, he answers in public:

Who is paying him?
What is the contract?
Why Jefferson County — and why David Tabb?

Until those answers are on the table, treat Cline the way you treat every other paid political operation.

Jefferson County voters, pay attention.

While Pasha Majdi sits on your County Commission making decisions that affect your property, taxes, and way of life… his day job (that he has since lost) has been working for Conservation International — an organization with deep, long-running operations and partnerships inside Communist China.

Conservation International has maintained an official Communist China program since 2002. They partner with Chinese communist government agencies, provincial authorities, and Chinese companies on projects across the country. This isn’t some distant NGO hobby. It’s institutional engagement with the Chinese communist system.

Majdi rose to Vice President of U.S. Government Policy and Strategy at the organization prior to termination of his employment. That’s not a junior role. That’s the person helping shape how the group engages Washington while the same organization maintains active work with communist Beijing-linked entities.

West Virginians deserve commissioners whose primary loyalty is to Jefferson County — not to global NGOs that do business with the Communist Chinese government.

Ask yourself:

Who does Pasha Majdi really work for?
Why should a local elected official hold a high-level policy job at an organization with extensive communist China ties?
And why has this never been a campaign issue?

Jefferson County is not a stepping stone for international conservation networks or for experimenting with policies to help Communist China. It’s home.

*Breaking News: Jefferson County Republican Executive Committee Involved in Misleading the Court?*

At Pasha Majdi's request, Bowles Rice LLP has filed a Verified Petition on behalf of John A. Cline. Mr. Cline is attempting to bring a suit to remove David Tabb from the ballot. The suit is filed 3 months late, but he claims he just learned of Tabb's ineligibility. John Cline is the husband of Krista Edwards, Cara Keys wholly-owned Planning Commissioner who she forced the County Commission to appoint in violation of WV's non-discrimination laws.

Bowles Rice LLP has been retained by the Jefferson County Republican Executive Committee to represent it in connection with this matter. JREC is also paying the fees. Gary Dungan has attended the meetings and pushed the Committee to retain Bowles Rice.

Further, the referral was made by Joe Funkhouser who is the attorney for the County Clerk. Joe provided legal advice at the JREC meetings.

This is full corruption that is going to cost the County substantial sums of money.

David Tabb should be asking some real questions of many people under oath.

Why is Commissioner Pasha Majdi trying to keep Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies from using technology that just recovered a kidnapped child?

Yesterday in Morgantown, the sheriff used Flock-style cameras to find a 9-year-old boy who had been taken. The child was back with family in under two hours.

Pasha Majdi has talked about passing a procurement policy so Jefferson County won’t buy the “advanced,” “intrusive” cameras that track vehicles. The same class of tool that just helped get a kid home.

Parents in Jefferson County deserve to know: why does he want to limit the Sheriff’s options when it comes to finding missing children?

It has long been rumored that Commissioner Jack Hefestay doesn’t live in the Charles Town District. Jack bought a house solely to run for the seat.

Since then his opponents sign was in his yard for a month. His pipes reportedly burst and flooded the house for several days because he never goes by. Reports are the electric meter doesn’t budge.
