RESPONSE to MAYORS PERFORMATIVE POST RECALL MESSAGE
Apparently, our current mayor does not understand the gravity of her actions nor the insignificance of her words. To make a post that says the recall is not going forward and now is a time to heal means nothing if your actions don’t support your words. Her actions are still the same now as they were before and during the recall. Lynda calls me out for not wanting to heal the community. The irony of that situation is that she blocked you from commenting your thoughts about coming together and healing the community. So Linda, how do you really expect people to heal if you block them from being able to voice their opinions? Don’t come at me with your same old stupidity. Either you want healing and you wanna hear people’s opinions or you just wanna look like your auditioning for a healing role and you really don’t care if it happens.
If she wanted healing, why didn’t she try to ask for healing during the recall? She’s done nothing for the street takeovers but tells the community that it takes time to come up with a good decision. However, Compton has already figured it out and has a relatively inexpensive and quick approach to eliminating the street takeovers. She speaks of unity but 99% of the time only post about one ethnic community. She speaks of unity, but she continues to block people from commenting.
She speaks of coming together as a community. How do we come together as a community when she approved and voted to support cutting the city council meetings in half? She approved just having one City council meeting a month. She approved the other city commissions, going to quarterly meetings. That reduced our ability to come together by 66%. She doesn’t allow post on her weekly mayor minutes. How is that coming together? Finally when there is a volunteer recognition event both her and Frank Yokoyama ask one of the volunteers, what are they doing there. Then tell them they should leave. They don’t need to be there. Is that an example of coming together?
She says let’s focus on the work ahead. How do you focus on the work ahead when the mayor won’t listen to sound financial advice? How do you focus on the work ahead when she continues to support a theater that drains the city of 5 to $7 million yearly? How do you focus on the work ahead when she doesn’t listen to the citizens and her constituents with ideas for balancing the budget? How do you focus on the work ahead when they did not genuinely as a council listen to the budget task force that they themselves put in place?
The entire essence of her most recent post about healing and coming together is performative at best! If she really wanted those things to happen, she could’ve started them back when she went under recall in the beginning of April. She doesn’t care if the changes happen or not she just wants people to think she tried.
Apparently, she only cares that five of her friends are healing and coming together. Because once her friends posted on this topic, she closed comments and no one else can post. Does that leave you wondering if that’s a healing tactic or coming together approach? I think it’s the worst theater I’ve ever seen! Please know the healing is coming because the community of approximately 6000 voters came together and said enough is enough. The healing will be complete in March 2027 when those 6000 to 7000 voters (about twice the amount she’s ever received in an election) will come out to the polls and vote against the water and sewer rate increases and keep her from having a second term in office. The best medicine for healing of our city is for her to be voted out of office!
