See this right here is the exact behavior that I have been talking about for the last several years long before he ever became Mayor. Oh, he loves to quote his scriptures and act like such a pious Man of God in public and put up his “Oh everyone i s working against poor, pitiful me” posts on his personal page to garner sympathy, attention, and adoration from his faithful and those fooled by the mask he wears because that is the only ones he allows to comment on his posts.

But here is the behind the scenes peek of when you go against him and say what he does not like. That is when you see the real him for the arrogant, egotistical, bullying, manipulative, power hungry, controlling person that he truly is. To sit here and try to bully this woman like he has done countless times for going on 8 years now because hebtries to intimidate those he believes are weaker than he is. What a man!

Here is the real Wade Evans. He has not changed. He does not live by the Word. He invokes the name of God and quotes the Word to brainwash those into trusting the mask he wears is real. But the Word of God warns us about men like him.

Matthew 7:15-23

15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.kstns sagert

“Hey we are open for public comment!” while limiting who can comment on a municipal government’s page where all should have the right to comment is beyond astounding and hypocritical to me. (If you click the picture and look at the bottom, you will see where the City did that.

The only way to comment is to email it in where nowhere else in the public can see it or hear it while they have also tried to limit public comment in the workshops that goes against the proposition. And I’d bet dollars to donuts that any comment going against what the Mayor has proposed won’t ever see the light of day and make it to the tentative March meeting. But hey! Transparency eh?

See comments on this post for more, and make sure you change the comments from “Most Relevant” to “All Comments” or “Newest” so you can see all of the replies showing some things!

If the opposite of “Pro” is “Con”, then wouldn’t that mean the opposite of “Progress” is “Congress”? 🧐

A message from Roxanne Atkinson- CCSS School Board President

There’s been some confusion about an item on the School Board agenda for Monday, so I want to explain it as simply as I can.

Last year, the parish reassessed property values. When that happened, the school system’s operating tax rates were automatically lowered. That’s just how the law works.

If the School Board does nothing, the school system would permanently lose about $935,000 every year. That money pays for everyday things like teacher salaries, classroom support, and keeping school buildings running.

On Monday, February 9th, the Board will vote on whether to roll those operating millages back to where they were before the reassessment.

This is not a new tax. It just puts the rate back where it already was so schools don’t lose funding.

So what does this mean for homeowners with a homestead exemption?

Very roughly:
$100,000 home: about $9.35 a year (around 78 cents a month)
$150,000 home: about $28.05 a year (about $2.34 a month)
$250,000 home: about $65.45 a year (about $5.45 a month)
$300,000 home: about $84.15 a year (about $7.01 a month)

One more important thing.

The Board is not asking voters to renew the 23.65 debt millage that failed last year. That issue is not coming back right now. In fact, that debt millage is being reduced from 23.65 to 23 mills this year.
Because of that reduction, even with the operating millages being rolled forward, the overall increase across all school taxes is 3.09 mills, not 3.74.

The goal here is simple: keep school funding stable, support teachers and staff, and take care of school buildings—while keeping the impact on taxpayers as small as possible.

If you have questions, please ask. It’s important that everyone understands what’s being discussed.

You know St. Tammany is facing a similar situation as EBR is right now. Their DA, Collin Sims, gets in front of the Parish Council’s Government Efficiency Committee. He shows them how he got a team together of some of the brightest minds he could find to analyze the budget, outlined their shortfalls, and showed them how dedicated funds left so little to fund the constitutional offices they have to provide.

Then, he goes on and shows the total WASTE happening in the Mosquito Abatement District and gets the Government Efficiency Committee (which hey we could use one of those) to make a HUGE recommendation to the Council to use the Parish tax dollars more responsibly and FUND THE CONSTITUTIONAL OFFICES! Then, he offers his team he assembled and his office to help in any way to right the course to help get the Parish back on track.

Our DA on the other hand has went to every meeting and gotten in front of every camera he can to whine, moan, and complain about his budget getting cut and threaten lawsuits. I mean come on! Which one sounds like better leadership? State District Attorneys know each other. So my suggestion to Hillar Moore would be to reach out to Mr. Collin Sims and ask him for help and see if we can borrow his team and try to help instead of just stomping his feet, whining, and throwing a tantrum.

Well, the voters have spoken, and Thrive has failed.

Mayor-President Sid Edwards has had a hell of a task set upon him from Day 1 thanks to many Administrations before him including Former Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome, Kip Holden, Bobby Ray Simpson, as well as Thomas McHugh and Pat Screen (who were the Mayor-Presidents back in the 80s). The absolute financial ruin that Baton Rouge is in has taken DECADES for this atrocity to occur. These Administrations have just added MORE and MORE and MORE. It’s always been “Well, this is just the way it’s been done for so many years, so that’s the way we just keep doing it.” Now, the St. George split has forced the City-Parish to finally acknowledge it.

After sitting down and carefully listenin to both sides, I decided to vote against Thrive. I just was not sold on it because honestly it needed to fail. I am also not comfortable with the idea of redirecting portions of dedicated Parish taxes to be able to be used within Baton Rouge. The City-Parish needs a clean slate and back to the drawing board.

Mayor-President Sid Edwards now has a chance to become one of the greatest Mayor-Presidents in Baton Rouge history by building a foundation of something great moving forward with the city-parish government with fiscal responsibility, transparency, common sense growth, and having the RIGHT people in the RIGHT places to make Baton Rouge great while being extremely responsible and diligent with our tax dollars and not having so much pork and extras that so many before him had and stuck this horrible monstrosity of an issue on him. But, Sid can take it as a burden or a challenge. It is all in how he is going to look at it.

He now has to sit down with his Finance Director and Administration and go through EVERY SINGLE THING with a fine tooth comb to audit and cut. This is honestly a great thing. Eliminate the waste and get rid of the non-essential and start fresh to build something better!

As for the Library, Mosquito Control, and Council on Aging, put their taxes back on the ballot next Summer or Fall before their funding ends rolled back to what they NEED without rededication to the General Fund, and I’m willing to bet it would pass. People do support these things and realize that taxes are essential to fund them. But also BE TRANSPARENT! Show their operating budgets compared to the proposed millage, and let us see WHY they need that exact millage! And oh, I’m looking at you, EBR Parish Library System! BREC, you too when you come asking!

I pray for Mayor-President Sid Edwards daily just as I do and have done for all of our community leaders, and I will continue to do so for the rough days ahead.
