March is National Social Work Month.

During National Social Work Month, we recognize the dedication and integrity of those who show up every day to make a difference.

Advocacy is more than a service — it is standing beside individuals and families during some of their most vulnerable moments and helping them navigate complex systems with dignity and strength.

This work demands resilience and the courage to address difficult realities while promoting stability and meaningful change. Social work is crisis response with compassion, accountability in action, and a commitment to equity for all.

The impact may not always be visible, but it is real — in restored hope, strengthened families, and healthier communities.

I stand with my fellow social workers in honoring this vital profession.

This month we celebrate the strength, resilience, and leadership of women who have shaped our nation and our communities — from pioneers like Susan B. Anthony to the countless women making a difference right here at home every day.

Thank you to the women who lead, serve, support, and inspire. Your impact matters.

Stay safe, everyone.

Today, we honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., whose unwavering commitment to justice, equality, and nonviolence helped shape our nation and continues to inspire generations. Dr. King’s leadership challenged us to confront injustice, uplift one another, and work collectively toward a more inclusive and compassionate society.

As we reflect on his enduring message, may we recommit ourselves to the principles he championed—fairness, dignity, and service to others—and strive to build stronger, more united communities. Dr. King reminded us that progress is achieved not only through words, but through thoughtful action and a shared responsibility to one another.

As we step into 2026, I want to wish the entire Woodbury community a happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year. It is truly an honor to serve a town made up of such dedicated residents, volunteers, and local employees who care deeply about where we live and work.

Woodbury is special not only because of its beautiful surroundings and strong services, but because of the people who show up for one another every day — from our first responders and staff to our volunteers, families, and seniors. Your commitment, pride, and sense of community are what continue to move our town forward.

As we look ahead to the year to come, I’m hopeful for continued progress, thoughtful growth, and opportunities that strengthen our quality of life while preserving what makes Woodbury feel like home. Thank you for your trust, your engagement, and your love for our town. Wishing you and your families a joyful, peaceful, and successful 2026.
