Yesterday, after five previously delayed preliminary hearings since August 2025, we finally moved forward with the preliminary hearing. The charges: Count 1: CHILD ABUSE RESULTING IN DEATH. The judge found there is enough evidence to move this case forward, and we are now headed toward criminal trial. A small victory!
Before testimony began, the District Attorney warned our family that we would hear painful, disturbing details. Nothing can prepare a grandmother to sit in a courtroom and hear how violently her granddaughter was injured. I left shocked, devastated, and with a grief that feels brand new all over again.
It was also the first time many of his family members attended a hearing. I can’t stop thinking about how hard it must have been for anyone in that room to hear what was described. And I’m struggling with an honest question: after hearing what Gianna endured, how can anyone continue to stand behind the person accused of doing this?
I want to be clear: I’m not asking anyone to harass or threaten anyone. I’m asking for accountability, for truth, and for compassion—for Gianna and for every child who cannot speak for themselves. The court process will do what it must do. But as a community, we can choose where we place our hearts and our support.
Thank you to everyone who continues to follow , to check on our family, and to keep Gianna’s name present. We will keep sharing updates as the case moves forward. Please hold Gianna and Kendall in your thoughts—and please keep this space respectful as we fight for justice.
