South Division Street is closed in front of 1004 S. Division for repair of a water main. Howerton, California, and the entrance to Christian Covenant Church remain open.

UPDATE: 06/23/2026, 8:30am - The isolated boil order affecting residences on Stable Drive has been lifted.

Carterville water customers on Stable Drive with exception of 123 and 125 Stable will have a service interruption on June 22nd at approx 9am for a new water main connection. Service will be restored before the end of the day and a boil order will follow for the addresses affected.

The Tri-C Athletics little league parade is Saturday, June 6th at 8:00am. The parade starts at Carterville Jr. High and goes north to James Street Park. Division will be closed between LaClede and James Street for the parade.

The Carterville Bark Park will be closed for a few hours on Saturday, June 6th for cleaning and repairs. A big thank you to the Carterville Area Rotary Club and all the volunteers assisting their efforts!

The Illinois EPA requires that each premises of each water customer be inspected for cross connections and we accomplish that through this survey. Cross connections may allow contaminants to enter the water system through backflow or back siphonage.

A physical copy was mailed to every water customer. If you misplaced or failed to receive the survey, please follow the link below. Print, complete, and return to the Carterville Water Department by June 20, 2026. Contact the Water Office with any questions, 618-985-2011.

The STL Foodbank truck is running a little later than normal. They expect to arrive at the park around 9:30 this morning. We should be loading trucks around 9:45.

Spread the word and remember to line up on the gravel road off of Cannon Drive.
