Good Day Carmel attended today’s Carmel Farmers Market Firehouse Cookoff!

With hundreds of community members stopping by to sample and vote, Station 344 earned bragging rights and took home the coveted Golden Skillet trophy. 🏆

Leading the charge once again was Firefighter Micah Abbott, who continues to build quite the reputation in these competitions, bringing home another win with his crowd-favorite mac & cheese recipe. 🧀👏

A huge thank you to all of our firefighters and staff who spent part of their day off participating, cooking, serving, and connecting with the community. Events like this are a great reminder that the teamwork doesn’t stop when the uniforms come off.

Congratulations to Station 344 and Chef Micah on another championship performance!

(Recipe included below if you’d like to see what all the hype was about 👇)

Better luck next time to runners up stations 342 & 345.

And we also appreciate the participation by stations 341, 343, & 346. and explored the farmer’s market afterwards !

In commemoration of America’s 250th and the City of Carmel’s 50th anniversaries, the Carmel Clay History Museum commissioned a local woodworker to construct a time capsule, the design of which was inspired by artifacts from our collection as well as architectural features of the museum building.

The time capsule’s contents will comprise wooden plaques upon which we have engraved letters written by community leaders and long-time residents to future residents of Carmel.

The time capsule will be displayed in the museum until 2076, when it will be opened and the contents displayed in celebration of the country’s 300th and the city’s 100th anniversaries.

Good Day Carmel joined The Carmel Clay History Museum along with leaders and residents for a dedication of the time capsule.

This will be the public’s only opportunity to read the letters before they are enclosed for the next fifty years. We will also celebrate the opening of two new exhibits for the America’s 250th and the City of Carmel’s 50th anniversaries.

In addition to the plaques, the time capsule will also have letters written by children of the community. Letter blanks will be on sale at the front desk for $5.

Good Day felt enchanted and hopeful that impossible things can be possible having a seat at Beef & Boards Dinner Theatre for Rodgers & Hammerstein’s enchanting CinderellaMagical musical is 2026 Season Family Show.

The timeless enchantment of the magical fairy tale Cinderella is reborn at Beef & Boards Dinner Theatre this summer, complete with Rodgers & Hammerstein’s hallmarks of originality, charm and elegance. Now on stage, Cinderella is the Family Show of Beef & Boards’ 2026 Season.

Impossible things happen every day in the wonderfully imaginative world of fairy tales. Pumpkins become carriages, the most beautiful ball gown appears with the wave of a wand, and it takes just one dance to fall in love. Cinderella discovers all this and more in this enchanting tale, perfectly paired with the musical styling of Rodgers and Hammerstein. The incomparable duo originally wrote their version for television in 1957, with Julie Andrews as Cinderella. It was recreated in 1965 with Lesley Ann Warren, and again for a new generation in 1997, starring Brandy as Cinderella with Whitney Houston as her Fairy Godmother.

Now that magic comes to the stage starring two Beef & Boards newcomers: Grace Ellis Solomon as Cinderella and Carmine Mastrokostas as Prince Charming. Joining them are Craig Underwood (Heartbreak Hotel, The Little Mermaid, Fiddler on the Roof) as the King, Karen Pappas (Church Basement Ladies, Grumpy Old Men, It’s A Wonderful Life) as the Queen, Amdanda Butterbaugh (The Addams Family, Nunsense) as Stepmother, and Chanel Edwards-Frederick (Waitress) as the Fairy Godmother.
Cinderella is directed by Elizabeth Stark Payne and choreographed by Sally Scharbrough.

As Beef & Boards’ 2026 Family Show, Cinderella tickets for children ages 3-15 receive a $10 discount.

Tickets are currently on sale exclusively through Beef & Boards Dinner Theatre at beefandboards.com or by calling the box office at 317.872.9664. Patrons are advised that tickets purchased from third-party sellers may not be valid for performances and may include additional fees.

Cinderella is on stage for 56 performances through July 12. Every performance includes the family-friendly dinner buffet, including Beef & Boards’ signature roast beef, along with coffee, tea, or lemonade. Gourmet desserts and bar beverages are available for purchase.
Cinderella is rated G and sponsored in part by Indy’s Child.
