ATTENTION:
Jury service for the 294TH District Court today, Monday March 31, 2025, has been canceled. I apologize for the late notice of jury cancellation.

The DA’s Office and the defendant reached a plea agreement this morning, presented it to the Court, and asked the Court to allow them to resolve the case.

After pleading guilty to assault with a previous conviction, the Defendant will be placed on probation for 3 years, required to serve 180 days in jail, and pay a $1,000 fine and $1500 in court appointed attorney fees plus court costs.

The case is prosecuted by Alfredo Hernandez and Chris Hartwell of the Van Zandt County Criminal DA’s Office.

The defendant, Michael Sprouse, is represented by attorney Jonathon Manning.

Again, I apologize for the late notice you are receiving for the jury cancellation. Thank you for your willingness to serve our county.

You are not required to report to the Van Zandt County courthouse or do anything further.
