Elect Janelle Valladares for Canon City School Board

Today we cast our vote for the future of our community. I humbly ask for your vote to remain on the Canon City School Board and for the 4A ballot initiative to support our schools.

4A will fund rebuilding the oldest wing of CCHS and major renovations at Lincoln, McKinley and CES with no increase to our taxes.

As a parent, volunteer, and board member I've been hands-on in our schools for years. The experience I've gathered from these roles has shown me what it means to be a good School Board member. Our district is known across the state for excellence in achievement, innovation, and creativity. It's crucial to support what has been successful and continually look for ways to improve for the future of our students. I will serve with honesty, integrity, curiosity and kindness.

All ballots need to be taken to a drop box or voting center. It's too late to mail them!

Ballots must be RECEIVED at the County Clerk’s Office by 7 p.m. on Tuesday November 7.

WE ARE PROUD TO HAVE THE SUPPORT OF OUR LOCAL TEACHERS! When teachers from the local teachers association contacted us, we responded promptly because that's our commitment. We value open dialogue when people reach out to us. We know that quality teachers are the backbone of our district, we prioritize engaging with them and will never be “too busy” to do so. Although the Public Education Committee has a Denver address, the interviews were conducted and the selection for funding was made by local CCSD teachers.

The best parts of campaigning for a seat on the school board has been meeting so many people, including public leaders, behind-the-scenes leaders, classroom leaders, business leaders, deeply invested parents, and concerned community members. I am humbled by the support that Robin, Bret and I have received from these genuine leaders in our community.

Beth was principal at CES when we moved to town. We moved at an awkward time, just one month before school got out for summer. I was impressed with her from day one. I'll forever be grateful for the thoughtful way she welcomed my kindergarten son. I am so proud to have her support.
