Our Homeschool Curriculum Swap is just around the corner!

We're accepting curriculum donations from July 27–31. If you have gently used homeschool curriculum, books, manipulatives, educational games, or other learning resources your family no longer needs, consider donating them to help another homeschooling family.

This is a wonderful opportunity to share resources, support one another, and strengthen our homeschool community.

Adventure and discovery are the themes for Week 6! With just 20 minutes of learning a day, your child can continue building skills while exploring new ideas and interests.

📚 Discover new authors, nonfiction books, and current events.
➕ Practice real-world math through shopping, measurements, and statistics.
🔬 Investigate shadows, electrical circuits, and environmental issues.
🗺️ Explore geography, timelines, and how communities work.
🏃 Build healthy habits by trying new physical activities and learning about nutrition and screen time.
🎧 Read new books, complete a Khan Academy challenge, or listen to a podcast on a topic that sparks curiosity.

💡 Remember—you don't have to complete every activity! Choose 1–2 activities that fit your family's schedule. Consistency is more important than completion, and learning can happen anywhere.

🍎🥪 Need Help with School Meal Costs?

North Carolina has released the 2026–2027 income eligibility guidelines for free and reduced-price school meals. Families who qualify can receive healthy, nutritious meals to help students stay focused and ready to learn.

Families are encouraged to complete a meal application through their child's school or school district if they believe they may qualify. In North Carolina, students approved for reduced-price meals receive meals at no cost.

Children in households receiving SNAP (Food and Nutrition Services) or Cash Assistance, as well as eligible foster children, may automatically qualify for free meals.

For additional information or questions about eligibility, please contact your child's school or school district.

🎉 Calling All Students Ages 14–17! 🇺🇸

Applications are now open for the 2026 Patriot Games, a national competition recognizing outstanding students from across the country!

Selected participants will have the opportunity to:
🏆 Compete for a share of $250,000 in scholarships
📺 Receive national recognition through the ESPN App and ESPN on ABC
🤝 Build leadership, teamwork, and character
🇺🇸 Participate in a signature event celebrating America's 250th Birthday

📅 Competition Dates: August 9–11, 2026
⏰ Application Deadline: July 10, 2026

Applying is easy! Students simply submit a short video sharing their story, accomplishments, and why they would like to participate.

You've made it halfway through the summer! 🎉 Take time this week to celebrate all the learning, growth, and memories your family has made so far.

☀️ Keep the momentum going with just 20 minutes of learning a day!

✏️ Create stories, practice reading fluency, and compare favorite books.
➕ Hunt for shapes, patterns, and explore coordinate graphing.
☁️ Investigate clouds, simple machines, and photosynthesis.
🗺️ Learn about landmarks, maps, and needs versus wants.
🧘 Stay active with yoga, fitness goals, and healthy habits.
📸 Capture your favorite summer memories with a scrapbook or reflection journal.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our military families whose strength, resilience, and sacrifices help keep our communities strong. Whether you're celebrating at your new duty station, with loved ones back home, or preparing for your next PCS, know that your dedication does not go unnoticed.
