Yesterday morning, one of our firefighters completed his final tour after serving the citizens of Camas and Washougal for 29 years. Join us in congratulating Steve Pozsgai on his well-deserved retirement! 

Steve began providing EMS care in the Portland metro area 42 years ago, working for private ambulance companies before joining our ranks as a firefighter/paramedic. Through his years of service, he has experienced an ever-changing fire/EMS service and impacted the lives of countless individuals and families with his empathetic nature and dedication to quality patient care. 

From all of us at East Clark Professional Fire Fighters, thank you, Steve. You will be missed.

This week, firefighters from around the country met in Washington, D.C. for the IAFF Legislative Conference. Our members are dedicated not only to their fellow firefighters but also to the communities they serve. Advocating with elected officials to ensure that the firefighters in your local area have the resources, support, and protections necessary to do our jobs safely and effectively.

This week, several of your East Clark Professional Firefighters were in Olympia with other firefighters from across Washington for the Washington State Council of Fire Fighters Kelly L. Fox Legislative Conference.

Our goal is to share real-world experience from our firefighters. When lawmakers are informed, it not only allows for improved public safety, stronger emergency services, but also improves protections for working families.

Your firefighters believe in the democratic process and the importance of civic engagement. We are concerned by a recent presentation by the City of Camas Finance Director, which seems to contradict the intentions of voters who approved the passage of Proposition 2.
