The Washington State Supreme Court today affirmed that Meta, owner of Facebook, must pay a $35 million campaign finance fine for violating Washington state law.

“This is a major win for election transparency,” AG Nick Brown said. “Washington State has strong disclosure laws and they apply to all advertisers who sell political ads—regardless of size. As the lead opinion said, ‘Meta is being penalized for willfully violating the disclosure law at least 822 times.’”

To the Stanwood-Camano community: THANK YOU!

Earlier this month, and thanks to generous gifts of many, the Stanwood-Camano YMCA sent 11 local leaders to the 79th Youth Legislative Session in Olympia-at no cost to themselves. These young leaders had spent the year learning growing in their debating and public speaking skills, while learning the legislative process-including writing their own bills-all in preparation for this multi-day event. After days of spirited debating right in the Capitol itself, they returned both triumphant and already ecstatic for this coming year!
