On Sept. 4, Kilo Company completed its final motivational run, a three-mile cadence run around the Depot, marking the last physical training event before graduation. The next day, Sept. 5, families gathered to celebrate as these recruits officially became United States Marines.

After 13 weeks of training in drill, marksmanship, basic combat skills, and Marine Corps traditions, they stood tall at graduation, ready to carry forward the legacy of the Corps.

Recruits with Charlie Company, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, tested their skills during land navigation training at Camp Pendleton. Earlier in the cycle, they also maintained their sharp appearance during post exchange and haircut calls at the Depot.

Land navigation is part of basic warrior training, teaching recruits to use a compass and a map to find their way. Weekly PX and haircut calls help them stay squared away and uphold the standards of Marine Corps discipline and hygiene.
