🐟 🎣 Great news -- the fishing pier's back!

Fish on! Crews worked today to re-open the fishing pier after the flooding this spring. If you’re successful fishing at the park this season, we’d love to see a picture of your catch!🎣

Unleash your sense of adventure with our off-road, electronic track chairs! Did you know over 30 state parks have a track chair available for free use? Wm. Mitchell State Park's track chair can be used along the day-use area, campground, and the Heritage Nature Trail (once it dries from the flood). A list of all parks with track chairs and directions to make a reservation appear at the link below. Chairs also have a fishing arm attachment and can even be used on our archery range!

How to reserve:
Send us a message here, email [email protected] to make an advance reservation (24-hour notice is preferred).

Availability:
January through Memorial Day: Saturdays 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Memorial Day through
Labor Day: Daily; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Labor Day through Nov. 14: Saturdays and Sundays 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Due to battery life, the chair can only be reserved in three-hour blocks.

Campers can walk over, using the tunnel under the bridge, which keeps feet safely off M-115.

Not camping? Parking is available at the Wm. Mitchell State Park Day Use area, or in front of our building at the Carl T. Johnson Hunting & Fishing Center.

Our Friends group is seeking volunteers! It’s a great chance to meet like-minded people while supporting a great community resource!

We need volunteer sales staff in our gift shop in the Carl T. Johnson Hunting and Fishing Center. No long term commitment. We use Sign Up Genius so just sign up when available. Two shifts a day 10:30-1:30 and 1:30-4:30. If interested message me on this page with contact info.
