As winter approaches, the Park has closed for the season. Cabins are closed and camping is on a first-come basis with no reservations. The Visitor Center and General Store are also closed. But the water continues to flow over the falls in all its splendor 24/7, 365 days a year and the Park remains open. With the throngs of summer tourists gone, it's an ideal time to visit the Park!

The smoke is gone but, the beauty and splendor of the Park remains. Everyone and their brother will be heading here for Labor Day weekend. If you're coming, bring patience.

BE AWARE: Light to medium smoke is in the park due to the Green Fire about 30 miles west. People sensitive to smoke should take appropriate precautions.

EXTREME FIRE DANGER: Be aware that the unusually wet weather created large amounts of new vegetation growth during the winter. An early summer is drying out this vegetation and creating extreme fire danger for the rest of the summer season. The Park may restrict campfires within the park at any time. Visitors are asked to be extra-sensitive and cautious about fire danger. Please do NOT park vehicles on grassy shoulders as heat from catalytic converters can set such materials on fire, both within the Park and anywhere in the State.
