Nobody tells you how to tip your wedding vendors. We are telling you right now.

Because the night before your wedding is not the time to be Googling this. Save this post now and come back to it when you need it.

The short version — most wedding vendors are business owners who do not expect tips. A tip is a thank you for exceptional service, not an obligation. But when someone goes above and beyond on the most important day of your life — it is a really wonderful way to say it.

💍Hair and makeup — 15 to 25%. Catering and bar staff — 15 to 20% if it is not already built into the contract.

💍Delivery and setup crews — $20 to $50 per person. Transportation — 15 to 20%.

💍Photographers, videographers, DJs, planners, florists, and officiants — not expected but always appreciated. Anywhere from $50 to $300 depending on the vendor and the level of service.

And if the budget does not allow for cash tips — leave a review. A specific, heartfelt Google or Facebook review does more for an independent WNY wedding vendor than you probably realize.
