Today, I stood with my colleagues in the Legislature, block club leaders, and law enforcement to remind residents of the STUNT Law and to drive safely on the roads.
Across communities throughout our county, residents have raised serious concerns about reckless driving, street takeovers, excessive speeding, burnouts, drag racing, and dangerous driving exhibitions occurring on public roads and in parking lots. These activities are not harmless entertainment. They create dangerous situations for drivers, pedestrians, first responders, and innocent families simply trying to get home safely.
We are asking residents to make smart choices this summer, look out for one another, and think about the consequences before engaging in risky behavior behind the wheel.
