Our crews spent the day giving the trucks a full scrub‑down and shine as we get ready for the Mount Olive 250th Anniversary Parade this Saturday at Turkey Brook.

Nothing like clean rigs, good teamwork, and a community celebration on the horizon.
See you at the parade. We’ll be rolling in looking sharp.

Today, the Officers and Members of the Budd Lake Fire Department pause to honor and remember the brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice.

As first responders, we understand the call to serve, but we hold a special reverence for those who gave their lives to protect our nation's freedoms. Their
courage will never be forgotten.

To the families of the fallen in Mount Olive Township and beyond, we stand with you in honoring their memory.

If you are gathering with family and friends today, please celebrate safely.

Budd Lake Fire Department crews headed out last night to sharpen our wildfire skills.
Members spent the evening cutting fire line and running pump‑and‑roll operations with the UTV, keeping our team ready for the fast‑moving brush fires that hit our area every year.

Training like this ensures we can respond quickly, safely, and effectively whenever the call comes in.

Budd Lake Fire Department responded last night at approximately 7:45 PM for a mutual aid assignment to Belleville for a large‑scale 11‑alarm warehouse fire that also threatened multiple surrounding homes.

Our department, along with many others from across the region, was requested to supply tenders for water shuttle operations to support ongoing fire suppression efforts. Crews operated through the night and were released from the scene at 6:00 AM this morning.

The fire remains active, and numerous agencies continue working to bring it under control.

We’re proud of our members for their dedication and professionalism during this extended operation, and we thank all departments involved for their teamwork and support.

A huge shoutout to N.E.S. Services for their incredible support of our department! They generously donated the use of their trailer and machine to help us take on some much‑needed upgrades at our outdoor pavilion.
We’re grateful for local businesses that step up for their community. Stay tuned to see the transformation!

Budd Lake Fire Department is up at Town Hall today for Bring Your Kids to Work Day with all the Mount Olive Township employees.

The next generation is getting a front‑row look at what service, teamwork, and community pride look like.

You can never start recruiting too early — and who knows, today might be the spark that inspires a future firefighter.

Stay safe, stay curious, and keep those little helmets ready.

12 a.m., crews were dispatched to Route 46 and Mount Olive Rd. for debris cleanup. Upon arrival, we discovered the egg‑xact problem — a pallet of eggs had fallen off a truck and scrambled itself across the roadway.

At the same time learned there was second incident on the ramp from 80 eastbound to 46, where another pallet of eggs decided to make a break for it.

Both scenes were cleaned up quickly, and the roadway is now safe and clear.
We’re guessing someone’s going to be a couple pallets short when they arrive at their next stop… talk about an egg‑spensive morning.

No injuries, just a whole lot of omelette potential.
