I’m proud to have the endorsement of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW).

IBEW members know what a good job can mean for a family and a community. I’m running for Congress to make sure hard work pays off, with an economy people can afford to live in and a government that answers to the people it serves.

I’m grateful for their support and ready to keep fighting for affordability and accountability in Arkansas.

Magnolia native, Marcus McDonald helped Arkansas see itself for more than four decades. The longtime KATV Channel 7 photojournalist died Thursday at 69 following a battle with small cell lung cancer.

McDonald joined KATV in 1983 and spent 41 years behind the camera, eventually becoming the station’s chief photographer.

From Friday night football and Razorback games to presidential campaigns, breaking news and the everyday moments that often go unnoticed, McDonald documented the people and stories that shaped Arkansas. But his greatest gift may have been the way he saw people.

“Everybody’s got a story to tell. And it was my job to tell it.”

Those who knew him remember more than a gifted photographer. They remember a mentor, teacher, pastor, husband, father and grandfather who made people feel seen and valued.

His work earned numerous honors, including the Midwest Regional Emmy Silver Circle Award. His impact, however, extended far beyond the newsroom. Through his faith and service as an associate pastor at Greater Archview Baptist Church, he continued pouring into his community.

McDonald also chose to share his cancer journey, offering encouragement to others facing difficult circumstances and reminding them:

“No matter what comes your way, it’s gonna be alright.”

September is Su***de Prevention Month.

Too many people carry struggles that others never see. This month is a reminder to check in on friends, family, neighbors, and coworkers, and to make sure people know they are not alone.

Building a stronger community means supporting mental health, expanding access to resources, and creating spaces where people feel seen, heard, and valued.

If someone comes to mind today, reach out. A conversation can make a difference.

Someone was caught on camera dragging our large campaign sign away after removing it from its authorized location. The sign was damaged and left near a drain.

It had been placed in front of a local business with the tenant’s permission. A French Hill sign nearby was left standing.

Congressman Hill, will you join us in condemning the destruction of campaign property?

We do not yet know the person’s identity, motive, or political affiliation. We are preserving the footage, gathering the facts, and determining the appropriate next steps. We will not make accusations without evidence.

But what happened is now on video.

Campaigns should be decided by voters, not vandals.

You have every right to support French Hill. You have every right to support me. But vandalism is wrong in every direction. No candidate’s signs or property should be destroyed because someone disagrees with the message.

Whoever did this may have thought taking down our sign would take down our message.

It won’t.

One sign came down.

Three more are going up.
