Good Morning Brownsboro!
Yes, today is the last day to vote in the city council election. I know some of you are asking yourself why bother, well here is why. EVERY VOTE COUNTS. We had one election in the past three years that was won by just one vote, so make your voice heard today.

As I shared previously, I was appointed to the city council in June of 2025. Since this time, I have been working to make Brownsboro a better place. Yes, we have our problems, but I know with the right leadership on our council with the same vision we can make BROWNSBORO THRIVE, BUT WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT TODAY. GET OUT AND VOTE!

Please join me in casting your votes for Brooke Foster, David Adams, and myself to represent YOU on city council.

HERE IS OUR LIST:
• Create working 3, 5, and 10 year strategic plans for the city. These must include short term and long term goals, with projected costs included, and funding sources.
• Apply for specific grants that are part of the strategic plans. In the grant world, if a city does not have strategic plans in place, funding most often will not occur. We all want better roads, but we have to get these plans in place first.
• Continue with transparency with regards to the funding of our city. We hosted a budget workshop on 4/23/26 that was open to the public and only one person attended. It was disappointing, but we will continue to seek guidance from the residents of Brownsboro in these important decisions.
• All of us on city council are constantly looking at our ordinances and reviewing the Texas Municipal League Guide and we are realizing that we may have to revamp and add ordinances and protocols as issues occur. We, however, do not want to lose our community due to too much governmental influence, but create an enjoyable community that we all want to live in.
This is just the start of what we want to accomplish.

Look, the bottom line is….. We are your NEIGHBORS who are ready to serve you the residents of Brownsboro! So, PLEASE GET OUT AND VOTE TODAY. Thank you!

Hello Brownsboro! My name is Cliff Brumels, and I am seeking to retain my seat on the Brownsboro City Council for the upcoming election. My wife, Denise, and I moved here over three and half years ago, and it has been a blessing. We decided to make East Texas our final home because we wanted a town where neighbors help neighbors and we found it here in this beautiful community.

A little bit about me, I am the proud father of three children, twelve grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Truly blessed. I was born and raised in Portland, OR, but my family was fortunate to be able to relocate to Shreveport, LA when I was in high school. I graduated from Southwood High School and went into the Army. Best decision I ever made. I spent twenty years serving my country as a combat engineer, served in the Gulf War, and received a Bronze Star for Valor during this time. After I retired, I worked in a variety of management positions and decided that I still needed to serve. I moved to Alaska, where I met my wife Denise, and I became a licensed JROTC instructor where I taught high school students about being good citizens. I retired from teaching and moved back to Oregon to take care of my father and became a volunteer in my community before moving here to Texas.

Currently, I am a member of the VFW Post 7103 in Athens, Tyler Elks Lodge, American Legion Post 15 in Lindale, and serve as a Quartermaster and Ambassador for Run for the Wall. My wife and I attend Tyler Biker Church, and we are members of the Christian Motorcycle Association-Cross Spoke Riders in Tyler.

I am a believer that one cannot help their community exclusively through social media. One has to get out there and meet people, find out what the problems are, and see what can be done. I help out routinely with clean-ups here in Brownsboro with KBB. I also put out flags on Hwy 31 to recognize our patriotic days, was able to get Brownsboro recognized as a Purple Heart City, and even have helped with road repairs. I just try to support where I can.

I have not been on city council for very long. I was appointed in June 2025, but I will say that I have reached out to other municipalities, attended webinars and in person events (ARCIT), to gather information on what my role is. I love to talk and I have also connected with Brownsboro families to gather history to try to ensure we are doing right for this town. These conversations have been invaluable.

Please let me continue to serve this community by granting me your vote. I appreciate y’all and thank you for your time.
