SATURDAY! In this interactive two-hour workshop, artists, designers, and makers of all disciplines are invited to create portfolios using Are.na. Instructor and artist Chyna Cassell will guide participants through the basics of using the Are.na platform.

This collaborative workshop is perfect for those looking for new and creative ways to document their work and seamlessly connect it to potential clients or collaborators. Participants are welcome to share their progress to receive feedback or suggestions.

Participants should bring laptops or other devices that support the Are.na website or app. It is also encouraged that they prepare (digitally or physically) any assets they would like to include in their portfolios.

About Are.na: Are.na is a place to save content, create collections over time and connect ideas. Privately or with other people.

THURSDAY! ¡Oye! Group's Poets Corner is a free writing program for teens and adults, curated by poet-in-residence Roya Marsh, every third Thursday. This month's Poets Corner will be led at Library for Arts and Culture by Kai Giovanni, author of In Season and the 2025 New York City Youth Poet Laureate.

Kai's workshop will cover how to pull the personal into the political and craft pieces that engage audiences through both intimacy and broad strokes.

Participants will learn how to connect one's personal narrative to its broader, political implication in a piece. Using technical and emotional skills, participants will use the personal to mend the political (and vice versa) in a poem.

THIS SATURDAY! Don't miss out on our last 3 Saturday Storytimes of the summer! Join BPL Children's Librarian Micky for Storytime at the Center for Fiction (CFF).

The last Saturday of each month families can gather at CFF for stories and music while they browse for their next favorite read. Storytime from 11am to 11:45am in the children's section. Followed by arts and crafts hour right outside from 12-1pm.

Seating and craft supplies first come, first served.
