Yesterday, our 6th grade scholars had the opportunity to learn directly from Black entrepreneurship in action.

The owner of Filly Luv came in to speak with students about business, creativity, community, and what it means to build something with purpose. From food to ownership to leadership, our scholars got a firsthand look at what it means to turn passion into impact.

Today K-1 went on a community walk to Home Depot. The objective of this excursion was:
1. Explore a neighborhood business and meet some community helpers.
2. Explore the materials and tools that are found in this establishment that can help us either protect our community from a natural disaster or help us rebuild after said natural disasters.
3. Lastly, Explore the different kinds of vegetation that can be found this time of the year. How can the varying weather patterns impact a community economy if their sole source of income came from farming or gardening.
We had so much fun!!!
