This past weekend, our Broken Arrow Police fitness instructors participated in the Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.) 5K Run, showing their continued commitment to honoring and remembering those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

This event serves as a powerful reminder of the strength, unity, and resilience within the law enforcement community and the families who carry on the legacy of their loved ones.

We also take a moment to recognize Recruit Frank Leinen, who was included on this year’s Roll Call of Fallen Officers.

Final week for our Recruit Academy, and recently they’ve put their skills to the test with High Risk Vehicle Traffic Stops. This is where training, teamwork, and discipline all come together.

These recruits have put in the work, and now they’re ready to take the next step out in the field.

𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐩𝐨𝐭𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭
This past weekend, BAPD’s Mounted Patrol Unit completed their annual certification training, partnering with the Rogers County Sheriff’s Office and the Muscogee Creek Nation Lighthorse Police. 🐎👮‍♂️

Mounted patrol training focuses on preparing both horse and rider for the wide range of situations they may encounter in the field.
We appreciate the partnership and professionalism of all agencies involved. Training together helps strengthen regional cooperation and ensures we’re ready to respond wherever we’re needed.

𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝘆 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲!
Over the last several weeks, recruits trained in Tac-Med and Officer Rescue, learning critical life-saving skills and how to safely extract and treat injured officers during high-risk situations. They also spent time with our K-9 Unit, gaining insight into how these highly trained teams assist with tracking, suspect apprehension, and narcotics detection.

Recruits also paid a visit to the Tulsa Police Bomb Squad, where they were introduced to explosive device recognition, safety protocols, and the specialized work involved in protecting our community from explosive threats.

With just three weeks to go, graduation is right around the corner. We look forward to celebrating the hard work and dedication of our 2025 academy class!

We spent time at the Broken Arrow Police Academy as recruits completed Taser training, an important part of preparing them to safely and responsibly use this tool in the field.

They did a great job stepping up to the challenge and continuing their development as future officers!

Yesterday, our recruits proudly took the plunge at the annual Polar Bear Plunge alongside fellow officers from the Broken Arrow Police Department! ❄️🐻‍❄️

This incredible event supports our amazing Broken Arrow Special Olympics athletes — and we couldn’t be more honored to stand behind these dedicated competitors.

Way to go to everyone who braved the cold water for a great cause! 💙

🚔 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝘆 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲 🚔
This past month has been packed with hands-on training and major milestones for our recruits! From completing Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and Law Enforcement Defensive Driving to mastering Intro to Traffic Stops and so much more, their skills and confidence continue to grow each day.

With only 6 weeks until graduation, our recruits are pushing forward, staying focused, and putting in the hard work. We are proud of their dedication and commitment as they prepare for the next step in their journey.

🚦 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐲 𝐔𝐩𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞 | 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤 🚦
This week the academy focused on traffic enforcement and safety. Recruits learned traffic laws, collision investigation basics, and gained hands-on experience directing traffic in real-world conditions.

This training prepares recruits to confidently handle traffic-related situations they will face in the field.
