Vote Pina Ward 1 School Committeeman-Elect
Father of four in Brockton Public Schools. Fighting for better classrooms, safer schools, and honest leadership.

Views are my own as Committeeman-Elect, not those of the Brockton School Committee or BPS. I’m Stephen Pina — a father of four kids in the Brockton Public Schools, a 100% Disabled Army Veteran, and a lifelong resident of this city. I’m not a politician. I’m a dad who’s had enough of broken promises, bloated admin budgets, and classrooms that keep failing our kids. I’ve led teams of 140. I’ve manag

ed million-dollar budgets. I’ve run businesses and served this country with pride. Now, I’m bringing that same discipline and leadership back home — to fight for safer schools, academic excellence, and honest accountability. If you believe in protecting girls’ sports, putting parents back in the driver’s seat, and making sure every dollar actually helps students — then you’re in the right place. This campaign isn’t about titles. It’s about getting results and fixing what’s broken.

Ash Wednesday ✝️

“Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return.” — Genesis 3:19

Today the Church calls us back to what matters: repentance, prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. The ashes are not a symbol of defeat, but of humility and conversion — a visible reminder that this life is short and our souls are eternal.

Enter Lent with a warrior’s discipline and a penitent’s heart. Come home to the Lord.

🔥 Why I Do What I Do

📖 The Lesson
I don’t do this for applause or titles.
I do it for God, because faith keeps me grounded when the work gets heavy.

I do it for my family, because everything I build is meant to outlast me and bless them.

And I do it for my city, because Brockton raised me, tested me, and taught me what grit really looks like.

Service isn’t a slogan. It’s a responsibility.
When faith leads, family stays first, and community matters, the work stays honest.

“Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain.”
— Psalm 127:1

This is bigger than me. Always has been.

Why I do what I do and why I asked for your vote! To be the best father possible, help all our kids and to have a say in the future of this great city. It’s all happening because I’m there when I need to be.

⭐ JANUARY 5 — The Epiphany of the Lord

The Magi arrive, seeking the newborn King.

Their gifts reveal who He is:
Gold — King
Frankincense — God
Myrrh — Sacrifice

Christ is the Light for all nations.

Come, let us adore Him.

⭐ JANUARY 11 — The Baptism of the Lord (End of Christmas Season)

With the Baptism of the Lord, the Christmas season concludes. Jesus steps into the Jordan and begins His public ministry.

The Father’s voice thunders: “This is my beloved Son.”

Our mission begins here too.

Lord, help us follow You with renewed hearts.

⭐ JANUARY 1 — Mary, Mother of God

Today the Church celebrates Mary, the Mother of God—Theotokos, the God-bearer.

This solemn title isn’t about Mary being elevated above God; it’s about safeguarding the truth about Jesus Christ. If Jesus is truly God and truly man, then the woman who gave Him His human nature is rightly called Mother of God, just as the Church defined in the Council of Ephesus in 431.

Mary’s motherhood is the doorway God chose to enter the world. Her fiat—“Let it be done to me according to your word”—opens salvation history in a new way. She holds nothing back. She welcomes Christ fully. And the world is transformed.

We honor Mary because God honored her first.
We go to Mary because Christ came to us through her.
And we begin the year with her because she teaches us how to follow her Son with a faithful, courageous heart.

Mary, Mother of God, pray for us and guide us through this new year with your protection and grace.

⭐ DECEMBER 29 — Feast of the Holy Family

The Holy Family shows us what love looks like in daily life: obedience, sacrifice, patience, and trust in God’s plan.

May our homes reflect the same virtues.

Jesus, Mary, and Joseph—pray for us.

⭐ DECEMBER 28 — Feast of the Holy Innocents

Today we remember the Holy Innocents—the children killed by Herod’s rage.
Their sacrifice reminds us that Christ came into a world with real darkness, and He came to conquer it.

Holy Innocents, pray for all vulnerable children.

St. John the Apostle

Today we honor St. John the Apostle—the beloved disciple, the evangelist, and the one who stood at the Cross when so many others fled.

John reminds us that real discipleship isn’t loud or complicated. It’s staying close to Christ. It’s fidelity when the world turns hostile. It’s love anchored in truth, not sentiment.

He gave us a Gospel that lifts our eyes to the divinity of Christ, letters that call the Church to charity, and the Book of Revelation that reminds us Christ is victorious over every darkness.

“Beloved, let us love one another.” — 1 John 4:7
St. John, guide us to love Christ and His Church with the same conviction and clarity.

Brockton has a special place in Christmas history.

In 1890, the first department store Santa made his appearance right here in our city.

For years, John J. Merian kept that history alive with custom-made ornaments honoring Brockton’s role in shaping a Christmas tradition we now see everywhere.

That’s the kind of local pride worth celebrating.
Merry Christmas, Brockton — our history still shines. 🎄
