In April I had the opportunity to attend Clerk’s Day on the Hill at the State House, where we met with State Representatives to discuss our objectives for improving elections while continuing to provide voter access without placing additional strain on municipal budgets.

Hopefully, our legislators heard a consistent message from clerks across the Commonwealth, and we will begin to see real, meaningful changes reflected in the current House and Senate bills.

The VOTES Act of 2022 has created significant operational and financial burdens on our communities that are simply not sustainable long-term.

Important message from the Rockport Board of Health:

Front Beach is closed to swimming due to bacteria counts that exceed acceptable levels.
Swimming closures will remain in place until further notice/once testing determines that levels fall within acceptable limits. All other beaches remain open at this time.

May 31 is the last day of the dog licensing period, after that a five dollar late fee will be added per dog, per month, up to $25. It’s a beautiful day for democracy. Polls will be open for the Local Election 7 AM to 8 PM. Please return your vote by mail ballots either to the clerks office or in the blue ballot box on the side of Town Hall in the resident parking lot before 8 PM tonight.
