Bridgton Police Department will be at Walgreens this Saturday collecting unused and expired medications!

Did you know that 200 million pounds of prescription medications are wasted annually? We are proud to participate in this annual DEA event, securely disposing of 570-660k pounds of unused medications per event!

If you do not have medications to dispose of, please consider stopping by to say hello and show your support to Sergeant Michael Chaine! Sergeant Chaine works very hard preparing for this event and personally commits to staffing this important initiative every year 💊🚔

Bridgton, Maine — On Wednesday January 14, 2026, at approximately 10:35 a.m., officers from the Bridgton Police Department responded to a residence in the area of Sam Ingalls Road for a reported mental health incident involving a threat of self-harm.

With the assistance of the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office and the Bridgton Fire Department Drone Team, officers were able to safely investigate the situation, ensure the safety of all involved, and connect involved individuals with appropriate resources and referrals.
