The Therapeutic Recreation (TR) Department is dedicated to providing year-round recreation and leisure opportunities for people with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Therapeutic Recreation (TR) is a cooperative effort between the Somerset County Park Commission and the following participating municipalities:

Bedminister Manville
Bernards Township Montgomery
Bernardsville North Plainfield
Bound Brook Raritan
Branchburg Somerville
Bridgewater South Bound Brook
Green Brook Warren
Hillsborough Watchung

TR provides year round recreation programs to children and adults with developmental disabilities residing in participating municipalities.

Well Summer Connect 2026 has come to an end and we have had a blast! We hope you are excited for the fall programs and we cannot wait for all the fun! Registration will open Thursday September 10 and the brochure will be sent out later this week!

Final program of the spring season was a blast as usual. Despite the weather we were still able to get outside for a bit and everyone enjoyed their picnic lunch with dirt cup and fruit salad for dessert! We even had a special guest of a previous staff come to visit and played a brand new game called rubber duckie bingo.

It was a beautiful evening for our last night of golf at the Neshanic Valley Learning Center. They are always so welcoming and we love the partnership with them.
