Yesterday, Sheriff Michael Donato was proudly introduced by Retired Bridgeton City Police Chief Micheal Gaimari and longtime family friend Fred Hundt as he was honored as an award recipient at the 2026 Cumberland & Salem Counties Distinguished Citizens Award Reception, hosted by the Scouting America Garden State Council.

We were also joined by members of the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office Post 1 Explorers, along with Lieutenant E. Hoffman and Sheriff's Officer E. Quinones, who represented the program with professionalism and dedication.

Congratulations to Sheriff Donato on this well‑deserved recognition!

The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office will be hosting our next Triad Meeting, sponsored by Preferred Care, on Wednesday, July 15th, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Millville Elks Lodge.

If you are 55 years of age or older and would like to attend this Triad event, please be sure to call the number listed on the flyer and leave your full name, phone number, and the number of guests who will be joining you. Please have all names for your party available. Reservations are now required, as they help us ensure a comfortable, safe, and well-prepared gathering. If the guest list is full, you will be placed on a waiting list. We can not guarantee a seat if you are placed on the waiting list.

We look forward to a wonderful turnout and an enjoyable afternoon again this July.

Today, Sheriff Michael Donato delivered an informative presentation on senior citizen safety at the Millville Public Library. His discussion covered several important topics, including:

• Situational awareness
• Safeguarding credit cards
• Protecting personal identity from individuals who target seniors

This training was hosted by Lisa Williams of the Cumberland County Office on Aging, whose partnership helps ensure our senior community stays informed and empowered.
