🍂 Goodbye Summer, Hello Fall in Lawrence Township! 🍁

Sheriff Michael Donato and the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office had a great time joining the community at the Goodbye Summer, Hello Fall Bash this evening. It was a perfect way to wrap up the summer season and welcome the cooler days ahead.

One of the highlights of the event was S’mores with the Sheriff, where Sheriff Michael Donato rolled up his sleeves and made s’mores for attendees of all ages. From melted chocolate to toasted marshmallows, it was a sweet moment shared with neighbors, families, and friends.

Events like this remind us how important community connection is, and we’re grateful to Lawrence Township for hosting such a warm and welcoming gathering.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, said hello, and enjoyed a s’more with us. We look forward to seeing you at the next community event as we head into fall together. 🍫🔥

The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office will be hosting our final Triad Meeting of 2026 on Wednesday, October 21st, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Millville Elks Lodge. This luncheon is proudly sponsored by Autumn Lake Healthcare.

Please note that the reservation extension has recently changed.

If you are 55 years of age or older and would like to attend, please call (856) 451-4449 ext. 25114. When leaving your message, include your full name, phone number, and the number of guests who will be joining you. Be sure to have all first and last names for your party available, as they are required for registration.

Reservations are now mandatory to help us ensure a comfortable, safe, and well-prepared gathering. If the guest list reaches capacity, you will be placed on a waiting list, and we cannot guarantee seating for those on the waitlist.

Today, we pause to remember and honor the lives forever changed by the events of September 11, 2001.

Twenty-five years later, we continue to remember the innocent lives lost, the first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice, and the countless heroes who ran toward danger while others were running away.

We remember the families who lost loved ones, the communities that came together, and the extraordinary courage, compassion, and unity displayed in the days that followed.

As members of law enforcement, we carry a special appreciation for those who answered the call that day and made the ultimate sacrifice in service to others.

25 years later, we remember.
25 years later, we honor.
25 years later, we will never forget.

If you receive a suspicious call:

These specialized kits provide valuable emergency medical supplies that can help our K-9 partners receive immediate care when they need it most. As students across Cumberland County return to the classroom, the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office is reminding drivers to stay alert and practice safe driving habits around our schools and neighborhoods. Your attention behind the wheel helps protect our children, families, and school staff.

Our Sheriff’s Officers will be actively patrolling school zones and surrounding areas to help keep our students safe.

Key Safety Reminders:
• Slow Down: Follow posted speed limits in school zones and be prepared for sudden stops.
• Stop for School Buses: When red lights are flashing and the stop arm is extended, all traffic must stop.
• Watch for Pedestrians: Children may cross unexpectedly—stay alert near crosswalks, sidewalks, and bus stops.
• Avoid Distractions: Put the phone down and keep your focus on the road.

UPDATE!🚨
Sheriff Michael Donato and the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office announce that, through the course of its investigation, two additional individuals have been identified as operating ATVs and dirt bikes unlawfully on Saturday, August 15. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court. The Sheriff’s Office extends its appreciation to the community for the information and cooperation that assisted in identifying these operators. This investigation remains active, and additional updates will be provided as further individuals are identified.

Sheriff Michael Donato and the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office congratulates the 35 youth cadets who graduated from our 47th Police Youth Week—Class of 2026—hosted at Woodruff School last week.

This camp was a collaborative effort between Cumberland County Sheriff's Office, Cumberland County Prosecutor's Office, Bridgeton Police Department, Millville Police Department, and Vineland Police Department.

This milestone represents not only the dedication of our young participants but also the unwavering support of our incredible community.

Today, Sheriff Michael Donato and the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office had the privilege of welcoming 26‑year‑old Alex Mann from Malvern, PA. Alex travels the country visiting police departments to show support for law enforcement and to educate communities on autism awareness. Our agency was honored to be his 540th stop on a journey that has already taken him across five states.

During his visit, Alex spent time learning about the many responsibilities of the Sheriff’s Office. He observed a K9 demonstration, toured our Judicial Division, explored our various response vehicles and specialized equipment, and enjoyed a motorcycle demonstration from our officers.

Alex’s enthusiasm, kindness, and dedication to spreading autism awareness made today a meaningful experience for everyone here at the Sheriff’s Office. We thank him for taking the time to visit us and for the important work he continues to do across the country.
