Let's try to get a good turnout on Tuesday, May 10 while we decorate our deceased members' graves at St. Michael's Cemetery in Stratford. Many of us have been doing this for decades, and I highly recommend every Active BFD Member do this at least once in their career.

We had a great Annual Meeting on March 31. It was great to see so many old and new friends turn out, and to get back on track with having in-person Annual Meetings in March. Port 5 was a great host.

Of note Bobby Whitbread stepped down after serving decades as a BFSD Trustee. He was nominated, and approved by the Membership, to the Board Emeritus. We will miss his wisdom at our Board Meetings and wish him well in his retirement!

Congratulations to LT Joseph McNellis for being elected to the Board of Trustees!

The BFSD will be decorating St. Michael's and other cemeteries on Tuesday May 10 at 8:00 AM. We will put out a notice as we get closer to the date. Rain date will be Wednesday May 11. As always we appreciate B.A.R.F.'s assistance. We will need more flags after this year, so if anyone has any suggestions please contact President Novak.

Happy Memorial Day!

I'd like to thank the members of Bridgeport Area Retired Firefighters for decorating the cemeteries again. They really outdid themselves this year. When I went to decorate Park City, Mountain Grove, Lawncroft, and others they had already done most of them, including graves from 2021. Thanks guys!

Special thanks also to the people who came out to St. Michael's on May 11, and to Lt. Michael Dibble of Ladder 10-A for decorating Lakeview.
