Happy Pride Month!

The first Pride event I ever attended was in 2002. Years later, it is still so important that we make sure that our communities are safe and welcoming for all, including our LGBTQ neighbors, friends, and families.

Also, reminder that as Mayor of Bridgeport, I can officiate weddings.

This was a great event to teach our 4th graders about local government!

Bridgeport Borough was the place to be yesterday! Our 4th Grade Bears had the opportunity to learn all about Bridgeport from the borough council, the Mayor, the Police & Fire Chiefs, & even Rep. Tim Briggs! We are so proud of our Bridgeport Bears! !

Congratulations Rohn! Very well deserved.

I had some Mayor to Mayor talk today with Wilmington Mayor John Carney. From a small state like Delaware to a smaller borough like Bridgeport, we talked about the benefits of living in a place where you know your neighbors and look out for each other.

Today was a beautiful Memorial Day event fo honor and remember those brave members of our Bridgeport community who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country. Thank you to the organizers for putting together a special event that truly honors these Bridgeport patriots and families and thank you to all who attended to show their respect.

I was glad to see State Representative Tim Briggs and Bridgeport Council members Saba Alzaid Heather Cosenza and Laura Beverley Gamble, as well other local veterans and business leaders.

I was especially happy to see my friend, former Bridgeport Council member and veteran Juanita Coover today. Thank you to Juanita for your service.

Thank you to everyone who helped to smoothly and fairly run our primary elections yesterday in Bridgeport. Things ran very well, even with new technology. I appreciate everyone who came out to exercise their right to vote.

Tonight I brought my family to say thank you to our Bridgeport Firefighters. We brought pizza and talked about how grateful we are for all that they do to keep Bridgeport safe. They train regularly to stay current on regulations and to be prepared to respond to any emergency. These men and women know every street in Bridgeport and take on personal risk at a moment's notice.

Maybe one day my sons will be volunteer firefighters. Bridgeport Fire Co. No. 1 Bridgeport Fire Department Good Will Fire Company
