Happy Senior Health and Fitness Day! Did you know it is recommended that older adults (with physician approval) engage in 150 minutes per week of moderate-intensity aerobic activity plus muscle-strengthening activities at least twice a week?

This doesn’t mean you need to do vigorous aerobics classes or lift heavy weights at the gym. Brisk walking, hiking and swimming are all excellent examples of aerobic activities, while exercises like chair squats or using resistance bands can make a significant difference in helping maintain strength and physical function.

EverTrue wants to keep our residents and clients physically active in the way that works best for them! Find out why staying physically active has so many health benefits for older adults: https://ow.ly/F0il50YUFO2

Congratulations to Melissia Robinson, EverTrue Director of Grant Funded Programs, one of the winners of the 2026 LeadingAge Missouri Change Makers Award!

This award recognizes individuals whose actions have created meaningful, positive changes within their organizations and communities.

Melissia Robinson is known for fostering collaboration, building trust across sectors, and being reliable and solutions oriented. Through her membership in multiple aging-services organizations, Melissia has channeled her advocacy for older adults to help shape policy priorities and legislative strategies, advance workforce initiatives, and promote best practices across the field. Not content to just contribute, her involvement in projects is transformational through her thoughtful questions, eye for identifying gaps and clarity in leadership. Melissia's work has directly improved the lives of vulnerable older adults, particularly those who fall just outside traditional eligibility thresholds, by securing funding and designing creative solutions so that Missourians can age safely and with dignity in their own homes.

Thank you, Melissia, for being a “Change Maker” and for demonstrating how a person’s commitment, compassion, and initiative can spark lasting impact.

We aren't the only ones that think our residents have incredible stories. EverTrue Laclede Groves Independent Living resident, Anna Belveal, was interviewed for The Wise Pod and shared stories from her 30 years as an educator. She taught during segregation and was one of the first white teachers in St. Louis to integrate into an all-black school when desegregation began. Anna’s story teaches the significance of choosing to serve your community (and humanity) for a fulfilling life.

With EverTrue, you are empowered to live life to the fullest — at every age. Anna’s favorite ways to stay active? Traveling (and geocaching!), playing games, being on committees in her community and walking her dog.

Watch Anna’s The Wise Pod episode, from the 1904Group, here:

In this episode, we sit down with retired science and math teacher Anna Belveal. From growing up with a fiercely independent father to being on the front lin...

Check out EverTrue PACE participant, Diann Cole, and Pastor Deborah Burch, Chaplain at EverTrue PACE, who were on KMOV! They joined the News 4 Great Day team to talk about the EverTrue Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly, known as EverTrue PACE, which is designed to help people live independently and age in their own homes, while providing care and connection at the PACE Center.

Diann shared how the PACE program "came right on time" for her and she was first in line to join in 2022. Diann gets to see friends and make new friends, in addition to getting an array of medical check-ups at the PACE Center. In fact, the PACE program helped Diann realize how much her health had changed, and encouraged her to seek out additional care that has changed her life.

Find out more about how PACE enables you to live in your community while accessing the services you need to age well: https://www.evertrueliving.org/evertrue-pace/

EverTrue is leading the aging services industry through innovation in Memory Care by harnessing the power of AI.

Through partnership with Daugherty Enterprises, EverTrue launched an immersive training platform Better Path AI, where caregivers can practice the communication skills and empathy needed to assist residents with dementia.

Using AI-driven avatars to represent various stages of dementia, the Better Path AI trainings simulate real conversations and provide real-time feedback, all guided by EverTrue’s StillYou philosophy and the CARES model.

Congratulations to Kristy Kerley, EverTrue Director of Hospice and Palliative Care, who is one of the winners of the 2026 LeadingAge Missouri Change Makers Award!

The award recognizes individuals whose actions have created meaningful, positive changes within their organizations and communities.

Kristy leads EverTrue Hospice and EverTrue Palliative, both parts of EverTrue Anywhere Care, through compassion and innovation. The EverTrue Hospice program has experienced significant growth under her leadership, expanding access while elevating quality outcomes and family satisfaction, and her personal philosophy — meeting patients and families “where they are” — has become a guiding principle that ensures care is deeply personal and dignified. Kristy has been transformative, creating EverTrue Palliative Care after recognizing a critical gap between curative treatment and hospice services. The program serves more than 115 patients daily and her work has positioned the organization as a leader in integrated, patient-centered care. Kristy’s work uplifts teams, strengthens communities, and inspires a better future for aging services in Missouri.

Thank you, Kristy, for being a “Change Maker” and for demonstrating how a person’s commitment, compassion, and initiative can lead to larger changes.
