Lady Owls Suffer First Loss of the Season
The Bradford Lady Owls suffered their first loss of the season Monday evening on their home field, falling to Brookville, 7-2.
Brookville's offense proved difficult to contain as the visitors capitalized on their scoring opportunities throughout the match. Despite the final score, the Lady Owls continued to battle from the opening whistle to the final minute and found moments of success on the offensive end.
Bradford's two goals came from Maisy Gorrell and Ellie Spehar, while Gwen Neighbour recorded the Lady Owls' lone assist of the match.
In goal, Akacia Dynda started the match and made six saves in the first half. Braylynn Switzer took over in the second half and finished with seven saves, helping the Lady Owls withstand a relentless Brookville attack.
While the result marked Bradford's first defeat of the season, the Lady Owls showed resilience throughout the contest against a strong Brookville squad. Bradford's record now stands at 2-1-1 on the season.
The Lady Owls will look to bounce back on Thursday when they travel to DuBois for their next matchup.
