A Message of Gratitude to Our City and County Officials

On behalf of our community, thank you.
When the floodwaters rose, you were there. First responders wading into danger to reach families trapped in their homes, public works crews clearing debris, emergency management staff coordinating shelters and supplies, and countless other officials working late into the night to keep us safe and informed.

Your courage, competence, and compassion made all the difference. You didn’t just manage a crisis, you showed up for your neighbors, your friends, and even strangers, treating every person’s safety as if it were your own family’s. That kind of dedication doesn’t happen by accident. It comes from people who genuinely care about the place they serve.

To everyone who answered emergency calls, staffed shelters, checked on elderly residents, and worked tirelessly to restore power, water, and roads . We see you, and we are deeply grateful.

Recovery will take time, but because of your leadership and hard work, our community is already stronger and safer than it would have been otherwise. Thank you for your service, your sacrifice, and your unwavering commitment to us.

With sincere appreciation and respect,
Kinney County Chamber of Commerce

The safety of our members and our community comes first. We encourage everyone to avoid unnecessary travel, stay alert to changing weather conditions, and never attempt to drive through flooded roadways.

Please stay safe, check on your neighbors if you’re able, and we’ll share information about our next meeting as soon as it’s scheduled.

Thank you to the Texas Historical Commission for their presentation today on Heritage Tourism.

We had a great time learning and talking about all the ways towns are making their historic sites interactive and inviting tourists to live like locals!

We look forward to expanding heritage tourism here in Kinney County and partnering with all the great local entities that were present today.

We have great ideas on how local businesses can both promote commerce and support our unique historic heritage community here.

Let’s keep growing!
