We would like to take a moment to express our condolences to the family of Mike Richards as well as a little fire service background on his time on earth.
Mike joined the Boyne Valley Fire and Rescue family in the early 90s. While he served honorably, he also can be attributed to many accolades along the way. He was a founding member of the EMS service for Boyne Valley. Serving as the Director of the EMS, as well as the chief of the fire department. Mike served on multiple agencies over the years and came back to the Valley for his final time in service before he hung up his bunker gear for retirement in 2016.
It is with heavy hearts that the black stripe on our badge is for him as he ascends to the big department in the sky.

With love,
Station 5200.
