📣 SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT 📣

Bourg Fire Department and 911-Dispatchers are aware of the field fire located between South Terrebonne High School and the Lafayette Woods Subdivision.

We are in contact with the landowner, who is actively monitoring the fire and has the necessary equipment on site to extinguish it should conditions change.

The fire is surrounded on all sides by water, and with current weather conditions, it is expected to be extinguished soon. There is no threat of damage to any property other than the grass of the land owner at this time.

We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as needed.

Due to the size of our area and the time it takes to cover the district. A single Santa takes approximately 6-7 hours to cover the whole area.. So Bourg Fire has dedicated members and has the ability to run 2 Santa groups at one time. One group covers everything North of Company Canal, the other Covers everything South, within our service area.

Through careful coordination, both Santa's do not cross paths. All we ask is the adults, please do not park on the side of the road near our station at 11am. Both groups leave at the same time and children will be confused to see 2 Santa's leave the station minutes apart.

Group 1 heads south on Country drive starting at Bourg Drive. Group 2 heads North on Hwy 24 to Lecompte Subdivision. So if your looking to catch santa early please go to those neighborhoods.

This is why we are unable to give an estimated time we will be in your area, because both groups are on the move. Please listen for the sirens, we do our best to go down every street possible that is easy and safe to navigate with our large apparatus.

We thank our community for your support, Bourg Fire Department has been keeping this yearly tradition alive for over 35 years, with no plans to stop.

HWY 665 IS CLOSED TO TRAFFIC AT 3600 block.

Crews are working a structure fire and blocking the road so crews can work safely. They will open the road as soon as possible.

Please stay out of the area!

The Bourg Fire Department is proud to offer First On The Scene (FOTS) Training – a free safety class open to the public!

Developed by the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT) and the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC), this course is designed to give everyday citizens the confidence and skills to take action in life-threatening emergencies until EMS arrives.

Key topics covered include:
✅ Activating the 911 system
✅ Hands-only CPR & AED use
✅ Administering naloxone and epinephrine
✅ Controlling life-threatening bleeding
✅ Managing chest trauma
✅ Safely moving and positioning injured patients

📣 SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT 📣

The Bourg Fire Department will be conducting fire flow tests on fire hydrants in the Bourg area, December 17-21 this week. This is a yearly requirement for insurance purposes.

During this time, those customers in and around this service area may encounter discolored water.

If you experience discolored water, please flush your internal plumbing for several minutes to try and clear up your water before calling waterworks. This rectifies the issue a large majority of the time. Thank you for your patience and understanding during the flow testing activities.
