The signing of this agreement - transferring 26 acres of Hellenic College land to The Trustees of Reservations - is a very, very big deal for Jamaica Pond, protecting the view shed from our idyllic pond in perpetuity (the forest between the college and the pond) and protecting the land from development for all time. Thank you to all involved in this effort - some good friends who have advanced this idea for decades.
Proceeds from sale of nearly 26 acres will bolster the school's endowment while preserving the property as protected open space.
