Following passage in the Senate and an anticipated favorable report from the House Health Committee, pro-abortion members of the Maryland General Assembly are on track to pass Senate Bill 169 and House Bill 372, legislation that represents a grave threat to conscience rights and religious freedom in Maryland.

If enacted, this legislation would force faith-based hospitals and healthcare professionals to participate in elective abortions, even when doing so violates their deeply held moral or religious beliefs.

Contact your Delegates at https://mdrtl.org/advocacy/take-action/
and urge them to vote against House Bill 372! It's vitally important that elected officials hear directly from their constituents. Your calls, letters, and emails really can have an impact.

Thanks to the efforts of our State Senator for District 1, Mike McKay, Washington County will receive $90,000 for Clear Spring Elementary School—new playground equipment and safety surfacing so kids have a safe place to play.

Just one of the many things Mike has done for Washington County. Thank you so much Senator McKay!!

In the Maryland Senate, Senator Mary Beth Carozza has introduced the Women's Freedom From Coercion Act (Senate Bill 302) to address the growing threat of coercion via abortion drugs to women’s safety and health.

Abortion pill coercion refers to the use of mifepristone and misoprostol to force, threaten, or trick a pregnant woman into killing her prenatal baby against her will. This form of abuse has increased as abortion pills have become more accessible via telemedicine and mail-order services, removing the requirement for in-person medical evaluation.

Methods of Coercion and Abuse
Perpetrators, often intimate partners or traffickers, utilize several methods to force abortion pill consumption:

Secret Administration: Sneakily slipping crushed pills into food or drinks.
Physical Force: Physically restraining the victim to force the medication into their mouth or body.
Coercive Threats: Threatening to kick the victim out of the home, end the relationship, or inflict violence if the abortion is not completed.
Tampering/Fraud: Obtaining pills through fraudulent means (e.g., using the victim's name or posing as a parent) to administer them without consent.

The national median rent falls to its lowest level since 2022. According to new data, rents posted their sixth straight monthly decline in January, with the largest annual drop in more than two years — down 6.2% from their Biden-era peak.

We still have a long way to go, but the national rental market is now moving in the right direction!

So proud of Past President Sharon Carrick. She gives a researched, articulate, and easily understandable reason why this proposed redistricting should be rejected. Worth the listen! What do YOU think?

DATE CHANGE - Mark your calendars and join us at 9:00AM – 11:00 AM rescheduled to Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at Lawyers Mall in Annapolis, MD, for Secure the Vote Act 2026 Lobby Day. A grassroots and Maryland Freedom Caucus’ effort to advance meaningful election security reform.

Secure the Vote MD (STVMD) has identified more than 236,000 voter registration violations, revealing widespread inaccuracies and significant bloating in Maryland’s voter rolls. These findings underscore the urgent need for sound, comprehensive election security legislation to ensure accuracy, integrity, and public trust in our elections. (Example: Ian Roberts case)

This week the House has taken important steps to support women, babies, and families—now it’s the Senate’s turn. As lawmakers debate health care, it’s critical that all government healthcare funding is protected by the Hyde Amendment, ensuring no taxpayer dollars are used for abortion or abortion coverage.

You have a special opportunity to meet this moment. We must urge Senators to support the Hyde Amendment—a critical pro-life policy that has protected millions of unborn lives. Right now, Hyde is under threat of removal. If this vital protection is not included in conversations about healthcare, there should be no deal. Hyde has long served as a guiding principle for pro-life policy—and we cannot, we must not, lose it now.

From the Maryland Freedom Caucus - Maryland Democrats are rushing through a gerrymandered Congressional map designed to eliminate our lone Republican representative, Andy Harris, in MD-1 to satisfy national party demands.
