Treasure Valley Vets 4 Vets is born of the need to have a local support community among local Veterans. After going through both group and individual counseling with the VA, I found that they just weren't enough, and that there were times myself or other Veterans had a lot to say and just couldn't because of the VA having to "keep on schedule." The goal here is provide a medium where we can all co
nnect, talk, share, and support one another. Phase I is this page, where we will be able to network and connect and share ideas and thoughts. Phase II is using that networking to establish group-driven support for Veterans. This means PTSD groups, Suicide Awareness, Risk Management, Financial etc...to be able to take however long one of us needs to get out what we need to get out in a group that either is going through the same, or has been there before. Phase III is to complete the process for a Non-Profit Organization, where a board will be put together to oversee direct support needs, where through charitable donations, contributions and fund raisers, the Organization will be able to provide emergency, immediate need and special care services to local Veterans in a time of need. While there are many Organizations that do this nationwide, I found in my own personal time of need that there just aren't many here locally, and I want to specifically address that shortage.
