The Boise VA Food Pantry is at risk of closing down! We need donations of food (see list below)!
We would like to remind our veterans and community that our food pantry is not supported financially by the government. It is entirely supported through donations and volunteers. Some veterans have taken advantage of the food pantry program believing if it is free, they should get it. We ask that only those who truly need the assistance collect food from the food pantry. There are many unfortunate veterans we serve who rely on the help.
If you are able to help we could use non-perishable food that is not expired. Please see examples below. Please bring donations to Bldg. 85A at the Boise VA campus. You can also call for more questions at 208-422-1175.
• Chunky Soup
• Canned Fruit or Applesauce (Regular, lite or packed in water)
• Canned Vegetables (Regular or reduced sodium)
• Canned Chicken
• Canned Tuna
• Canned Roast Beef
• Canned Chili
• Canned Ravioli/Pasta
• Canned Beef Stew
• Canned Beans
• Cold Cereal (Boxed or large bags)
• Instant Brown Rice
• Instant Noodles (Top Raman)
• Peanut Butter (Please no glass jars)
• Jelly (Regular or sugar Free)
• Pasta Sauce (Canned is preferred, please no glass jars)
• Boxed Dry Spaghetti
• Oatmeal
• Snack Items-granola bars, chips, crackers, etc
• Protein drinks
• Frozen meat
• Hamburger Helper
• Spam
• Please no expired items or home-canned food. Please check the dates before donating!
• Pull-top cans/foods are always appreciated as some veterans are homeless and lack can openers
