This weekend, it was a tremendous honor for our Kendall County Sheriff's Office Honor Guard team, along with Sheriff Al Auxier and Sgt. Pomeroy, to travel to El Paso and attend the high school graduation of Alex Ramirez, the son of Deputy Carlos Ramirez, who was tragically killed in the line of duty in 2019.
Being there to witness Alex walk across the stage and receive his diploma was a powerful and emotional moment. While Deputy Ramirez was taken from his family far too soon, his legacy continues to live on through his son and the remarkable young man he has become.
Law enforcement is a family, and it means so much to stand alongside the families of our fallen heroes during life's important milestones. We know Deputy Ramirez would have been incredibly proud of Alex's accomplishments, hard work, and perseverance.
Also in attendance were numerous Honor Guard teams and law enforcement agencies from across the El Paso area. Their presence, support, and willingness to stand alongside Alex and his family made this special day even more meaningful and served as a powerful reminder that the law enforcement community never forgets its own.
This meaningful trip was made possible through the generous support of the Kendall County Sheriff's Office Foundation and the Kendall County 100 Club. Their commitment to honoring our fallen heroes and supporting their families allows us to be present for moments like these that mean so much.
Congratulations, Alex! Your strength, determination, and character honor your father's memory in the best possible way. We are grateful to have shared this special day with you and your family.
