Tom Balliet, is a write in candidate for Jasper County South Carolina School Board District 6 in the November 8, 2022 election.
The children of Jasper County deserve a Board member who can help them move forward. As someone with 40 years experience as a teacher, trainer, and administrator in some of the best K-12 schools of Wisconsin, I believe I can help the Jasper County School District on its quest to improve the lives of the mostly poor and minority children in this very rural County. As a School Board member, my job is to help assure we have the best leadership and strive to provide the resources, training, and staff needed for students to succeed. It is not to micromanage. I intend to establish a newsletter to share school related information and to be available for Neighborhood meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 10 Year Resident of Sun City Hilton Head
- Past Neighborhood Representative, President of Road Runners Motorcycle Club of Sun City, Treasurer and 8 year Board Member of First Steps of Jasper County
- Past Chair of the 40 member Committee that developed the Ridgeland Campus Career and Technology Education campus and curriculum
- PhD in Education Administration
- 40 year career as Pre K-12 Teacher and Administrator, the last 20 in one of the best public school districts in Wisconsin based on several ranking systems
- 10 year post retirement career as Crisis Prevention and Intervention Instructor and Positive Behavior and Intervention and Support Instructor and Coach, both designed to help children behave better to learn better
- most meaningful awards are Outstanding Educator, my Induction into the Hall of Inspiration of my previous district, and a retirement gift of a painting done by a parent to represent my efforts to fight for children like hers.

HOW TO WRITE IN
On the paper absentee mail in ballot, simply write in Tom Balliet and check the bubble. On the machines for in person voting, touch the “write in” space on the touchscreen, type in Tom Balliet, and then press “accept”. The regular ballot will return to the screen and, hopefully, my name should appear. You may still have to touch the bubble next to my name.
