Yá’át’ééh!
This past weekend I will never forget such an experience. Being able to have the honor to represent my title, my Ft. Duchesne community, and my family at the Gathering of Nations this year has been such a privilege that I hope brought joy and laughter to you all who attended or watched online. I had the chance of attending Miss Indian World’s pageant on Thursday, where I got to see the contestants of different tribes showcasing their talents and speak intelligently of their culture. Also got to see many princesses and braves representing their title where I was able to make new friends from near and far! I loved seeing each and everyone of them. And more importantly, meeting Veterans who traveled from far to support their daughters running or attending the pageant, and who attended the Powwow. Thank you for your service and all you do!🖤🩷❤️🤍💙
On Friday, I had the enjoyment of being able to join the Horse Parade with Derek and Lita Mathews. Seeing the beautiful horses in the line-up decorated with each individuals tribe was such a sight to see. Definitely one of my favorites. As the weekend goes on- doing gourd dances, contesting, and enjoying the Powwow, seeing who got crowned and awarded on coronation night was gorgeous! Congratulations to our newly Miss Indian World Diana Wahwasuck 💖And Congratulations to my Shadí Kassie John for representing our Diné nation with love and pride! May our current and outgoing princesses strive with resilience, ambition, and humble ways 💗.
I hope everyone had a good weekend filled with love, positivity, and warmth. Hope you all got home safe and see you all on the Powwow trail 🤗.
Thank you, Ahé’hee’!
