From Ms. Amanda

Thank you to our friends at Brodart and the James V. Brown Library for hosting today’s Spring Collection Connection workshop in Williamsport!

I had a wonderful day learning about the exciting new titles headed to library shelves this summer and fall—and hearing from author Gideon Sterer was such a special way to wrap up the day.

One of the best parts of being a librarian is getting to hear directly from authors about their creative process, inspiration, and the stories behind the stories. It brings a whole new layer of appreciation to the books we love sharing with children and families. If you haven’t discovered Gideon’s work yet, be sure to check out our library catalog!

A huge thank you as well to our amazing library staff for keeping everything running smoothly while Kara and I took advantage of professional development opportunities—it was truly an all-hands-on-deck kind of day, and we’re so grateful for this incredible team.

And the day’s not over yet! Next stop: sharing our excitement for the upcoming *Readers in the Garden* program with the Catawissa Garden Club! 🌱📚

May 14 might officially be in the running for busiest day of the year! 😅

Big Day Today! Installation of our new awning for all the summer adventures coming up! Looking 👀 good! ☀️

That’s a wrap on our Spring Book Sale—and thanks to you, we raised over $11,000 to keep books, programs, and opportunities flowing across Columbia County. We truly couldn’t do this without this incredible community.

Now… we’re asking for one last bit of help.

If you have even an hour to spare today, we could really use extra hands to take down the sale. There are tables to fold, boxes to move, and a whole lot of cleanup ahead—and right now, we’re feeling it.

Every person who shows up makes a huge difference. If you’ve ever wondered how to support the library in a meaningful, immediate way—this is it.

We’ll be so grateful for any time you can give. 💛

We are so grateful to Jeffrey, Shelby, and Victoria from the CSIU for rolling up their sleeves and jumping in to help during the United Way’s Day of Action! 💙📚

Because of their hard work, everything is set and ready for our final day of the book sale (tomorrow)—and we can’t wait to welcome you!

Tomorrow (Saturday) is **$10 Bag Day**, and it’s the perfect way to spend a rainy day. The library provides the bag… you fill it to the max… all for just $10! 🙌

Every book you take home helps support the programs, services, and outreach that keep our community connected and learning all year long.

Come out, dig for some great reads, and be part of something that truly makes a difference. We’ll see you at the sale! 📖✨
