Dr. Oz says women are “under babied.”
No dude. Women are:
Under supported.
Underpaid.
Under childcared.
Under slept.
Under parental leave’d.
Under helped at home.
And somehow still expected to keep society running on broken sleep and a granola bar. - , Nish Patel, MD, MS

We know how deeply healthcare cuts impact women and q***r folks:
+++ When 40% of all births in Indiana are on Medicaid;

+++ when contraception, gender affirming care, s*x education and SA protections are out of reach to over 4,000 transgender youth and 400,000 women of reproductive age in Indiana; and

+++ when cuts to Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) could force senior women into nursing homes, especially in rural and minority-majority areas;

we have a serious crisis on our hands!

Congressman Frank J. Mrvan wants to hear from people like us, not the pundits or lobbyists, but real constituents about how the healthcare cuts are impacting our lives and how they will impact us in the months ahead.
Bring your stories, questions, and concerns to this important community conversation, co-sponsored by members of NWI NOW and other community groups -- i.e. Everybody Counts Center for Independent Living, Action Network, Medicare for All, and

A former IU student will avoid jail time and have his r**e charges dismissed after taking a plea deal.

Gregory Gabler, of Lake Worth, Florida, will plead guilty to felony criminal confinement. In exchange, the two r**e charges he faced will be dismissed.

Gabler will be sentenced to six years — all suspended to probation.

He will be allowed to move back to his home in Florida but has to complete his probation term in Florida. Gabler will also have to complete 200 hours of community service.

He is set to have a change of plea hearing with Judge Valeri Haughton this morning.

Gabler was arrested in September 2024 after a woman reported he r**ed her in his dorm room after a home football game.
