Today, the Western ND Honor Flight proudly celebrates two powerful symbols of our nation: the birthday of the United States Army and the enduring spirit of our American flag.

For 251 years, the Army has stood as a force of courage, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment. We honor every Soldier—past and present—who has defended our freedoms and carried our flag into some of the most challenging moments in history. Their service is the reason we can proudly raise our flag high today.

On this Flag Day, we also reflect on what that flag represents: unity, resilience, and the values our veterans fought to protect. Each Honor Flight reminds us how deeply those values live on in the men and women who wore the uniform.

To all who served in the U.S. Army, and to all who honor our flag with pride—thank you. Your legacy inspires every mission we undertake.

From the nurses who cared for the wounded, to the pilots, mechanics, intelligence specialists, commanders, and every woman who raised her hand to defend our freedoms—you are the embodiment of strength and service. Your sacrifices have shaped our history, strengthened our military, and inspired countless others to follow in your footsteps.

Honoring D-Day

Today, we pause to honor the heroes of June 6, 1944 — the brave Americans who stormed the beaches of Normandy and forever changed the course of history. Their courage, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to freedom continue to inspire every mission we undertake.

At Western ND Honor Flight, we are humbled to walk alongside the veterans who carried the weight of that day and the generations who followed in their footsteps. Each trip we take is a promise: we will remember, and we will ensure their stories live on.

To every D‑Day veteran — and to all who served in WWII — we offer our deepest gratitude. Your bravery shaped the world we know today. We honor you, we thank you, and we will never forget.
