Last week, Big Bear Station was proud to participate in Big Bear High School ASB 's "Every 15 Minutes" program, helping to raise awareness about the devastating consequences of impaired driving. After the mock crash scene, the students came over for a tour of the Big Bear Jail, led by Deputy Carr.
Thank you to the students, staff, and partnering agencies who made this impactful event possible.

Our Citizen Patrol volunteers had a great time representing Big Bear Sheriff's Station at Bear Valley Electric Service Inc.'s annual Earth Day Expo!

Deputies enjoyed speaking with attendees, answering questions, and sharing important information with our senior community. Deputy Marruffo and two of our explorers honored our fallen heroes today at the Memorial Day ceremony at Veteran’s Park. Thank you to The American Legion Post 584 Big Bear Lake and the Marine Corps League for this annual ceremony to honor and remember those who lost their lives in service to our country. 🇺🇸

National Police Week is a time to honor the heroes who gave their lives in service to others and to remember the sacrifice carried by the families, friends, and partners they left behind.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department proudly remembers Deputy Hector Cuevas Jr. and Deputy Andrew Nunez, who were killed in the line of duty in 2025. Their courage, selflessness, and unwavering commitment to protecting our communities will never be forgotten. Their names and legacy will forever remain part of our department and in the hearts of those who had the honor of serving beside them.

BBHS EVERY 15 MINUTES PROGRAM ROAD CLOSURE INFORMATION

On Wednesday, May 20th and Thursday, May 21st, Big Bear High School will host the Every 15 Minutes program. This nationally recognized program is designed to educate students about the dangers and consequences of distracted and impaired driving. The program is titled “Every 15 Minutes” because, on average, someone in the United States is killed in an alcohol-related traffic collision every 15 minutes.

As part of the program, a simulated traffic collision will take place on Maple Lane during the school day. In coordination with local law enforcement and emergency personnel, Maple Lane from Big Bear Blvd to Baldwin Lane will be CLOSED TO ALL TRAFFIC on Wednesday, May 20th from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

⚠️ Please be advised:
• There will be NO DRIVEABLE ACCESS to BBHS during the closure
• There will be NO entrance or exit access to the student parking lot
• Students and families should plan accordingly for pickups, drop-offs, or early departures
