We The People Party of Pennsylvania

We The People Party of Pennsylvania This is more than a political party; it's a call to action for every Pennsylvanian who feels unheard or sidelined by the current system.

We're not here to replace one duopoly with another but to fundamentally change how politics works in our state.

With local elections over a year away, now is the ideal time to consider running for local office! Your local government affects vital services, from snow removal and road maintenance to public safety, local schools, and yes, property taxes! Join us in engaging with local government to help create a better Pennsylvania.

This is incrementism. They start out at a low price to normalize the idea of paying to use the road you already pay taxes to maintain. Once you accept it the price increases but compared to last year it isn't much higher and so on. Then they create an automatic payment system so you no longer see what your paying up front and the price gets out of control. The Pennsylvania Turnpike is the most expensive road in the world.

Data privacy is an even bigger concern as technology and surveillance capabilities increase. Paying small fines and promising to delete the data is not enough.

Support the Beagle Bill. Give animals used in testing a chance for a real home.

Update on the Beagle Bill (SB 381) 🐾

I want to share an update on the Beagle Bill, an important piece of bipartisan legislation to protect dogs and cats used in experimentation.

The bill passed the Pennsylvania Senate unanimously (50–0) and is currently awaiting action in the House Judiciary Committee, where it must be voted out before moving to the full House for consideration.

I will continue to monitor its progress and support efforts to move this important legislation forward so animals used in testing are treated humanely and given the opportunity for adoption whenever possible. 🐶🐾

You don't need to be an expert in technology to debate needed regulations for AI. To start we can require transparency on what our government is using it for and whether or not a person is reviewing the decisions made by the program.

The state launched a yearlong generative AI pilot program last January, with 175 employees across 14 agencies incorporating ChatGPT into their work.

Police are using AI Personas to engage people on social media. This story broke by 404 media shows how government agencies are contracting with an AI company to use personas as undercover agents to spy on Americans. Do you think the government should be using bots to try to "catch" people suspected of planning to commit crimes?

Pennsylvania has 53 planned AI data centers with 11 planned in Lackawana county and 6 in one single town Archbald, PA. Nationwide, local communities are showing up to protest or at least demand transparency about data centers planned in their communities. Whether or not local councils can do anything to restrict development depends on current zoning laws. Laws cannot be changed after the development is already planned. If your municipality has not already updated zoning laws to address data center development in your community, you need to demand action now. Today, March 11 is the first day Independent and Third-Party candidates in Pennsylvania can begin circulating nomination papers to get on the November ballot. Meanwhile, the major party candidates just wrapped up their petitioning period yesterday to qualify for the taxpayer-funded primary election.
That means Democrats and Republicans not only get an earlier start, they also receive millions of dollars worth of exposure through a publicly funded primary system.
Independent and citizen candidates don’t get that privilege.
We earn our place on the ballot the hard way, a lot more signatures, more work, no primary exposure. We earn it directly from the people.
Over the next several months, volunteers and candidates across Pennsylvania will be talking with voters, collecting signatures, and building something the establishment parties can’t manufacture:
A real grassroots movement.
If you believe our elections should be open to more voices, more ideas, and more citizen candidates, now is the time to get involved.
Sign a nomination paper.
Circulate for a candidate.
Run for office.
The future of Pennsylvania won’t be built by political insiders, it will be built by We The People.
