The safest way to enjoy fireworks is by attending a public fireworks display conducted by trained professionals.

If you choose to use legal consumer fireworks:
✅ Follow all local laws and regulations
✅ Keep a bucket of water or garden hose nearby
✅ Use fireworks outdoors in a clear area away from homes, vehicles, and dry vegetation
✅ Closely supervise children at all times

Remember, fireworks can cause serious burns, injuries, and fires in just seconds.

Hot temperatures can be dangerous for everyone, especially children, older adults, and outdoor workers.

Stay safe during extreme heat:
💧 Drink plenty of water throughout the day
🧢 Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing
🌳 Take breaks in the shade or air conditioning
🚫 Never leave children or pets in vehicles
⚠ Know the signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke

If you work or exercise outdoors, limit activity during the hottest part of the day.
Stay cool, stay hydrated, and look out for one another!

🩺🚑 COMMUNITY PARAMEDIC PROGRAM AT THE TRI-COUNTY DISASTER PREPAREDNESS EVENT 🚑🩺

Gilchrist County Fire Rescue’s Community Paramedic Program was proud to participate in last week’s Tri-County Disaster Preparedness Event at the fairgrounds alongside local emergency management agencies and community partners.

This event gave residents the opportunity to learn more about disaster preparedness, emergency resources, health and safety information, and how local agencies work together during emergencies and natural disasters.

Our Community Paramedic team enjoyed meeting members of the community, answering questions, and sharing information about programs and services available to help keep our citizens safe and healthy year-round.

A big thank you to everyone who came out and helped make the event a success! Prepared communities are stronger communities. ❤️🚒

🚁🔥 TRAINING DAY WITH HCA AIRLIFE 🔥🚁

Last week, Gilchrist County Fire Rescue had the opportunity to train alongside the crew from HCA AirLife at the Gilchrist County Emergency Operations Center (EOC). Our personnel worked hands-on with the flight crew to review helicopter safety, landing zone operations, patient loading procedures, and coordination during critical medical emergencies.

We are excited to welcome HCA AirLife’s new local air medical base, which will help provide faster access to advanced emergency care for the citizens of Gilchrist County and surrounding communities. Having a closer air medical resource means quicker transport times for critically injured or ill patients when every second counts.

Training together strengthens teamwork, communication, and preparedness, ensuring the best possible care for our community when emergencies happen.

Thank you to the HCA AirLife crew for spending the day with us and for your continued partnership! 🚑🚒🚁
