Property Management Company looking to hire a reliable maintenance technician to help with day-to-day operations.

JOB SUMMARY: Maintains efficient operations of buildings, grounds, and rentals in a supportive role. Must be self-motivated and be able to work alone.

We need someone 40 hours per week, and are looking to fill this position immediately.

Essential duties include but are not limited to:

Minor Plumbing: includes the repair, replacement or installation of toilet guts, faucets, garbage disposals, etc.

Drywall repair: includes filling and texture of small holes caused by nails and minor dings.

Painting: includes minor touch-ups, to full walls.

Groundskeeping: includes replacing light bulbs, sweeping or raking leaves, and tidying/installation of bark or other ground covering, tree trimming, gutter cleaning and maintenance. Checking and monitoring pool/spa chemicals (very easy to learn).

Cleaning/housekeeping: includes maintaining a tidy appearance in shared community locations. Examples: cleaning fixtures, floors, bathrooms, and other surfaces in vacated units before new renters assume occupancy. Checking for garbage overflow and management from dumpster and recycle areas.

Snow removal: includes shoveling, blowing, or plowing snow away from covered walkways and driveways, and laying down sand or gravel to prevent slipping on icy surfaces, should there even be a need.

Customer service: includes professional, prompt and courteous correspondence with owners/renters when scheduling and providing maintenance services, and with contracted vendors that provide additional facility services.

Time management: includes maintaining an organized scheduling system to complete all maintenance requests in a timely manner. Having your own tools is a plus, but can be provided when necessary.

Experience preferred but not necessary in all categories listed above.

Must have a current Driver's License, valid auto insurance, and your own transportation. A company vehicle may be provided based on experience. Must be able to pass a background check.

Starting pay $17-$23 an hour depending on the level of skill.

Original post: Beaverton Police looking for missing 11-year-old girl

The Beaverton Police Department is searching for an 11-year-old girl who ran away from home this morning.
The mother of Ariana Gleason called police at about 8:45 a.m. and told officers that her daughter was angry and did not want to go to school today and ran away at 8 a.m.
Ariana was last seen entering the woods near her home in the 6700 block of Southwest Nehalem Lane.
Ariana is 5-foot-5 with blond, hair down to her lower back.
She was last seen wearing a blue plaid skirt, blue Valley Catholic shirt, red jacket and purple shoes. Ariana is familiar with the Powerline Park and park trails around her home.
Beaverton officers are currently searching the area and parks around her home. Washington County Search and Rescue has been requested to assist in the search.
Police also are asking for the public's help. Anyone who sees her should call the Beaverton Police Department at (503) 629-0111.

Open House on Body-Worn Camera Pilot Program

The Beaverton Police Department (BPD) was awarded a Body-Worn Camera Pilot Implementation Program Grant in the amount of $150,000 for 100 cameras through the Department of justice his grant will help advance and expand the department’s efforts to develop a comprehensive Body-Worn Camera (BWC) program. BPD will serve as a pilot program for other law enforcement agencies and will forward findings and best practices to the U.S. Department of Justice as part of the two year grant. The pilot program includes community engagement; development/ refinement of body-worn camera policy and procedures; researching, testing, and procuring equipment; deployment of cameras, and program evaluation.

The Beaverton Police Department is committed to ensuring continued high-quality service from our officers, increasing transparency and openness with the community, and strengthening trust for the police department. We hope the use of body-worn cameras will help facilitate this commitment.

BPD is seeking input from a broad representation of community members and leaders about the adoption and use of body-worn cameras. BPD representatives are meeting with various groups and will be hosting open houses to share information about the BodyWorn Camera Pilot Program and to listen to questions and concerns about the program.
